Based on this almost-honest report from Dan Rather, I'd say j\keep him as an embed. One of two things will happen.

His reporting will become honest. Or he will get blown away. Either way, the American press drastically improves.

I flipped on the alphabets, all the news was negative about the election, they threw in a few positives interviews and comments here and there but for the most part you feel like even if the Iraqi people win, they lose. I'm back to FOX now.

Pretty sad that a single Dan Rather report has almost as much positive news about Iraq as a week's worth of Fox News Channel coverage.

Yeah, FNC as a whole is great and helps to add balance, but in covering Iraq they are almost as bad as all the other Dem propaganda outlets, er, media channels. At least 90% negative on FNC, just like the rest of them. Totally inexcusable.

So, did this actually happen, or is Mister Rather, uh...well, forging an interview?

It's a tad ironic that Rather is with the Marines. Years ago, if memory serves, he washed out of Marine basic. Might this not be an explanation of his hatred of the U.S. Military?

Not bad until rather just had to throw in a little negativism right at the last with his, "What do you tell the troops when they ask why we're here?" He's trying to redeem himself, but he's still a punk at heart.
