They were generated using the free text aloud software, Speakonia, which sounds like Stephen Hawking. There's an mp3 of Johnny Cash, Jeff Daniels, or Sam Waterston (that dude from Law & Order) reading the Gettysburg Address here.

A narrator named Randy Atcher reads the Declaration of Independence here.

Just for those that might prefer the warmth of a human voice.
