Can't the Feds do anything about the Mexican cartels and Russian mafia (mafiya) that seem to do virtually anything at will? It almost seems as if the Feds are terrified of the criminals. I read a paper from a Californian police department that made the Mafiya seem unstoppable.
They may be ruthless criminals, but they are still criminals and thus should be stopped.

If this keeps up, we're gonna have a new Elliot Ness rising up from the ranks... and you know what that means. Yup, yet another fbi series on tv. The horror.

The Gulf Cartel is only doing the job Americans won't do.

The Gulf Cartel is believed to have massed armed men, with visas and passports, along the border to come into the United States and kidnap two FBI agents.Interesting. While we're so busy keeping Iraq safe for democracy, our southern border now has drug thugs threatening even FBI agents. I pray no drug lords kidnap any of our people, though it would be a very bad thing for them tactically if they did. We might actually have to take the Mexican border seriously in our Homeland Defense.

armed men, with visas and passports,I'm not buying the story because of this. They don't need passports or visa to get across the Mexican border with the US.

Why do they have visas and passports?
Under Bush, they are (his words) "Guest Workers" certainly not "illegal aliens" or terrorists.

I saw on the news just a day or so ago that Mexico had officially declared that they would maintain sovereignty over all drug investigations in Mexico, and would conduct the investigations without the help from law enforcement agencies from other countries.
Things are lookin' real good, eh?
