MURRAY A Murray High senior had a truly "memorable" 18th birthday Thursday when she and her girlfriend found out they'll be "cutest couple" in the yearbook. "It is really cool," said Kortni Coats, who will be named in the yearbook, along with Taunica Crump, her girlfriend of seven months. "We had joked around about it, but we had never thought we would actually win," Coats said. "It is so cool that all these students stand behind us and are supporting us." The decision follows a revote after an apparent tie with a junior-senior pair.

"I wouldn't let my kid buy one of the yearbooks. If someone gave her one, she'd be expected to return it to them and she would know that she shouldn't sign her name in one unless the deviant stuff had been removed first."
Seems like overkill to me, frankly. A picture of two girls is hardly likely to destroy your daughter's moral values. It's a silly thing. That's all.
That truth, irrespective of changing times, attitudes and mores...is just as true now as regards fundamental principles (as it was then. And marriage and the nuclear family and the life styles that lead to them must be considered as about as fundamental as it gets for society.
typical teenage rebellion. Shock factor. Where is this school?
Some homecoming queen is just gonna die because she and her boyfriend weren't voted cutest couple.
Murray, Utah. It's a suburb of Salt Lake City.
Salt Lake city is largely conservative. this might help explain my teenage shock theory.
I'd hate to see the ugliest couples.
The same should hold true when choosing one's sexual identity. There's no way that the average 18-year-old "knows" she's a lesbian. Hell, she doesn't even know what she's going to major in college.
How about, "You must be 25 to publicly declare or otherwise publicly demonstrate your abnormal sexual preference."
(Even then, that's no guarantee. Anne Heche comes to mind.)
Madona has grown into a very harsh looking man.
This is an interesting story. I'm happy for these girls. Thanks, and good post.
Yes. But, and, damn it,
Madonna still gets to kiss
more girls than I do!
Likewise, human passions that bridle morality and religion unleash another beast. I, too, am in awe of the wisdom and truth in this statement by John Adams. Our Constitution and the moral fiber of our country are what have made our Republic great. If we are to keep it (our Republic), it is imperative to adhere to the basic principles which established it.
Considedring what the Bible says it will be like in the end times, I often wonder how society will go down that road of immorality. How can society as a whole get so messed up collectively?
Aren't they going to be surprised that the real title of the award as voted on soley by males is "The cutest couple you'd like to have perform at your bachelers party".
Does the big one's mom know that she has her glasses from the 70's?
Just more proof of the decline of western civilization and the barbarians...Islam...are kicking against the gates.
LOL
You've nailed it.
I take back #54 after seeing the photo. Maybe they voted on "The cutest couple of dudes"
I'd wager the one on the right is the Diesel.
That's what happens when you name your children Kortni and Taunica.
