MURRAY — A Murray High senior had a truly "memorable" 18th birthday Thursday when she and her girlfriend found out they'll be "cutest couple" in the yearbook. "It is really cool," said Kortni Coats, who will be named in the yearbook, along with Taunica Crump, her girlfriend of seven months. "We had joked around about it, but we had never thought we would actually win," Coats said. "It is so cool that all these students stand behind us and are supporting us." The decision follows a revote after an apparent tie with a junior-senior pair.

Caption is incomplete. Should read: 'cutest couple of dogs.'

They could be LUGs - a term they use to refer to themselves. What is a LUG? Lesbian Until Graduation. As somebody else said... explaining it to your future husband might be a little difficult.

If those two won, there couldn't have been much competition.

Nothing wrong with tolerance when it is applied to those who, though thinking different than you, do not represent a group, ideology, or movement that is threatening to the whole.

Blacks and other races (simply because of their race) never did, other religions rooted in the same fundmanetal moral principles as were envisioned when this Republic was founded never did and do not. The actual sex of an individual does not. Etc., etc.

It is when these basic characteristics are distorted and perverted that you have problems...in other words, when they come away from the foundational moral principles and promote something that will destroy them.

Still, as long as they do not violate laws and harm others, they are to be tolerated...but a general swing by any signficant portion of society towards a perversion or distortion or corruption of the foundation...will destroy the Republic from within.

There are plenty of organizations that understand this and then use the enviro-whackos, the homosexuals, the abortion community, etc., etc. as their modern "useful idiots" to weaken our nation in the hopes of ultimately bringing it down. In my faith, there is a particular entity behind it all, confederated with evil tyrants of the day, who is pulling the strings and playing these people like a fiddle. He has always dealt in lies, corruption, compulsion, and the anti-thesis of liberty. Has from the begionning, from before the foundations of the world IMHO.

He does so today and it is sad to see it find root in what has been traditionally an all-American community like Murray, Utah.

It could well be just a stunt by an adolescent student boidy as a mild form of rebellion...but it is still sad to see IMHO there in Murray.

I wouldn't let my kid buy one of the yearbooks. If someone gave her one, she'd be expected to return it to them and she would know that she shouldn't sign her name in one unless the deviant stuff had been removed first.

I feel sorry for you and your kids. Come on!

Morals, values and those fundamental principles are the very fiber of civilized civalization. By very definition, morals are right and wrong. Values are those things we put utmost worth in and cherish. Those are the very fiber of what defines the standards of those fundamental principles we live by... our compass. Your post hit it on the "central nerve". Interesting times we live in...

"I hope I did this right. First post ever."

It is good, but in the future, remember that this is not a local site, and no one but you and people in your town, has a clue as to where all the Murray Highs of the world are located.

As I have asked others, always put a city and state in the header.

I think MinstrelBoy's the kind of nickname you wouldn't want to have in junior or senior high. ;-}
