Mayor Herenton admits to fathering child

Memphis Mayor Willie Herenton announced this afternoon that he is the father of a 4-month-old baby. Herenton made the announcement at the office of his attorney Thursday afternoon. He is not married.

Herenton declined to answer any questions, deferring to his attorney Mitchell Moskovitz.

Willie Hump Harrington fathered a child out of wedlock? Imagine that!! The reason the Memphis City Schools are in such poor condition is because the only way one could get a Principal's job there while Willie Hump was Superintendent was to sleep with him. The City paid three women I know a goodly sum in sexual harassment suits that involved Willie Hump and his Principal appointees. Willie of late has been unseen at the City Council Meetings due to nasal problems brought on by medicinal inhalant powders. Marion Berry and Willie are real close friends also which may lend one to understand the lifestyle of the Memphis rich and famous (which includes the Fords, which is another nice story).

When Willie Hump was elected, Memphis was 51% black. Now it is about 85% black. I wonder why? Willie Hump's ethical non racist agenda?

Willie Hump has been MIA the last month for Memphis City Council meetings and even absent from his office. No one could find him and only his confidant Secretary or lawyer would speak up for him (I guess if you are in rehab you need to be out of the limelight). His personal problems (read sex, drugs, and illegal bidding and spending practices) have finally caught up with him. Since he is of a minority and one of the minority anointed ones, the majority of the press and his peers have given him a free ride.

Not a big surprise. When he first becaume known in Memphis it was brought out that his girlfriend had three abortions at his urging. This was before he was named as Director of the school board.

The Fords and Herenton are political rivals (to the death) within the Black community here in Memphis. Willy Herenton, whom I have met several times, done slipped a gear about 5 years ago. He ain't all there.

On the other hand the entire Ford family has been nothing but a corrupt bunch of losers, up until Harold Ford Jr. He has successuflly seperated himself from his fathers generation (particularly the embarransment of Uncle John) and is a promising politician. He might even lead the Democrats back to reality, if he can succeed in throwing out the wicked witch of the House (Pelosi) who he challenged a couple of years ago for the leadership position. He's a partisan Democrat the way Moynihan was. I can work and live with that. I would vote for him if I lived about 3 miles west of here.
