The U.S. Model: For years, much of the world did aspire to the American way of life. But today countries are finding more appealing systems in their own backyards.
Not long ago, the American dream was a global fantasy. Not only Americans saw themselves as a beacon unto nations. So did much of the rest of the world. East Europeans tuned into Radio Free Europe. Chinese students erected a replica of the Statue of Liberty in Tiananmen Square.

Ahh, another America-hating professor. If America is so bad, why is everyone trying to emigrate here? Literally, everyone from every continent is trying to get in. We have more people move here each year than all other countries combined. Yet this moron tells me that other "models" are more attractive? The evidence does not support him.

This article is a perfect example of how a morally bankrupt world is wagging it's finger at the US and declaring it to be the problem. The entire piece is full of idiotic hyperbole and attempts to justify the antithesis of freedom as a justifiable form of government. Not long ago, these same morons were telling the US it's cozy relationships with tyrannical regimes were the problem. Now that the US is moving away from that, they blame the Us for not accepting turanny as a valid form of government.
The fact of the matter is that much of this is rooted in a jealous rage. The only "myth" is that European countries are interested in freedom and democracy. They're not.

Exactly- and why does he continue to teach here? Surely such an enlightened mind would be welcomed at one of Europe's fine academic institutions. Or are the perks, pay and status of U.S. tenure just that irresistable?
