News came today that the Europeans are waking and discovering mon dieu that Al Qaeda is in their midst. And even worse the pervasive anti-Americanism of Western Europe seems to have acted as a recruiting machine for young Muslims in Europe to go to Iraq to kill Americans.

The big question (no pun intended) is whether France and Germany and the rest of the EU will actually DO something now to stop al-Qeda...or will they be so paralyzed by fear of a Spanish train bombing style attack happening on their soil...that they do nothing. It's real easy to just talk about realizing the threat posed by al-Qeda...it's something totally different to actually move to STOP their terrorism.

Stopping determined committed terrorists amounts to tracking them down after they commit their deeds. Any idiot can be a suicide bomber, sniper, or toss Sarin bombs in the subway.

What do you call people who supply your enemy with weapons? The friend of your enemy is your enemy. Western Europe is approaching that line everyday...look at suppliers of Iran and Syria's nuclear tech.

And Jimmuh Cahtah helped the North Koreans jump start their program if they promised not to make bombs with it. Lets give him a prize for that genius bit, something like the Nobel Peace Prize.

That is wishful thinking on our part. The Europeans are too arrogant to ever admit that they were wrong on anything. The extreme anti US sentiment is amplified anti Capitalism reflexes.
France knows there is a serious problem that will not go away . Chirac bombastic mouth and lack of morals have hurt his country financially. He will look for a way to make a gesture to reduce the anger of America towards France.
