Exactly my point... thanks for reaffirming it.
Of course they do, but many like myself just avoid them. As for a movie made by hollywood being degrading to Jews, thats not hard to understand. I don't mind if the movie is going against political correctness, we need more of that, but (without seeing the movie) I suspect this is one of the "I can tell Jewish jokes because I'm Jewish" things. Which is politicall correctness.
I don't need to "get over it," because I haven't seen either movie. I'm not "upset," it's Rabbi Lapin who wrote the article, and apparently was offended by the "Fockers." (I have to say, that title offends me, too.) There's a lot of stuff that's "funny" -- but doesn't belong in public.
Streisand, at least, might argue with you. At least in Yentl, she took pains to identify herself with Jewishness.
Well, since the "Christian" Clintons are an embarrassment to me, as a Christian, I can understand why the "Jewish" Streisand and Ron Jeremy are an embarrassment to Lapin.
My sister thought the movie was hysterical.
I wouldn't go to see the movie in question, nor would I spend my Money supporting the Liberal Left and their ANTI-GOD, ANTI-JEWISH, ANTI-LIFE garbage.
Decent people know that Striesand and other Limo-Liberal IDIOTS have absolutely NO Morals...their own Words, Thoughts and Mouths Betray them for who and what they are.

An excellent, incisive commentary by Rabbi Lapin.What some people who posted don't seem to understand is that in the subtle defaming of Jews against Jews that exists in our culture, it is mostly the secular Jews who insult, disparage and mock the more Traditional Jews and their customs.
The good news , I believe, is that this is close to reaching critical mass among the more Traditional Jewish elements,and shortly we will be seeing the Jewish people more represented by the more Traditional and Religious spokesmen for our cause and that of America, as opposed to the drivel that mostly derives from the more secular of our co-religionists.
The mutual respect and goals held by the White House and the more Religious segments of the Jewish Community in this country is only an initial indication of a future trend I believe will accelerate. And it is not at all lost on our Religious Jewish leaders that we have a close ally in pursuing this more accurate representation of what Jews are really all about, and that is our Chrisitian friends. May we triumph together.
My Jewish in-laws, their Reformed Rabbi, their friends have said the SAME EXACT THINGS about Christians in my ear-shot!!!!!! Also while using the term WASP as a perjorative, and saying they hate every German when they know I am mostly German!!!!

This Shatner (sp?) character is already becoming an icon? I like the show, but Spader's character has become too normal, or at least conscience-driven, in the past couple of episodes. I prefered it when he seemed more amoral and menacing.
