Is it your point that Rabbi Lapin is an authority and thus you dare not disagree? You had no such scruples with those that disliked the Passion. Why the deference to Rabbi Lapins characterizations?
Yes, I do disagree with Rabbi Lapin as I stated in my first post. You however agree with him and have taken it further to include respectable columnists like Krauthammer. Thus my disagreement now includes you too.
OK, we'll have to agree to disagree. After Krauthammer accused Mel Gibson of a "blood libel" --- a truly vicious accusation -- for the "crime" of making a movie accurately representing the passion passages of the Christian gospels, I can't agree with anyone who calls Krauthammer a "respectable" columnist.
I guess one could as well call the Pope and the Catholic Church anti-Christian for formulating strict guidelines for Passion Plays. As introduction to these guidelines they state the historically dangerous effects of these performances in a manner not dissimilar to CK's description.
Also, it seems to me that one can disagree with Mr Krauthammer on his position on the Passion without either condemning him as a Jew or calling him anti-Christian.
CK certainly never blamed Christians for the Holocaust.
You're right about that. It was unfortunate phraseology on Krauthammer's part, imo. During the Christmas season especially he was the biggest defender of Christianity I've seen from a national columnist.
