I just got home and listened to an excerpt of Kennedy's comments today. Has anyone noted that Kennedy takes every opportunity to call Condi the "architect" of the president's policy?
Isn't that a term that was used about the architects of Hitler's Final Solution?
Also, I haven't read the thread or go through my pings yet but wonder, has Boxer spoken yet?

Unless asked personally by the President, I agree with you that i do not believe she'd even consider Senator. Governor? Always a possibility. I do believe Prez and VP isn't without reach but if is convinced to run it will not be till mid '06 at earliest. It isn't smart to announce your candidacy so far in advance. Any momentum gained will be lost. Also, if she becomes a candidate unlikely she'll remain SOS. She'd have to rack up some quality achievements as SOS to use as a platform, time is necessary to do so.
Yep. Hillary speaks hr own mind. Kennedy speaks what's left of his. Feinstein is loyal to Hill but I have no doubts she commands her own voice. Boxer is told how to vote and how to act.

MY biggest fear is that the Republicans WON'T stand their ground and use their majority to get Bush's agenda even started let alone, passed. There are just too many squishy Reps in the Senate for my liking---we call them Rinos, but even some that aren't designated Rinos are worrying me re: Social Security, funding for the WOT, tax reform. etc.
From what I see George Allen is the ONLY true Rep talking this afternoon and he can't do it all--even though it is a "done deal" that Condi is going to be confirmed, it still doesn't bode well that so many are voting against her.

The real question about Condi running, or any other Pubbie, will have to wait till after the 06 election..Prez will spend some more capital..take down a few more Dem senators...if Jeb is truly out in 08..as I thik likely..then Bush will have to decide if he wants to remain neutral..or to annoint a successor..easiest way is to have Cheney "retire"..then name his possible/probable successor..

You are the second one in just a few posts to point that out---I recognized it, but I am kind of a WWII nut, I have read a lot about it. I thought I would be sounding paranoid to write that.
Therefore, the prase has probably been given to each democrat to insert in their conversation, speeches, etc.
Let's watch and see if Boxer uses that prase also this afternoon.
