SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - Twenty-three terror suspects tried to hang or strangle themselves at the U.S. military base in Guantanamo Bay during a mass protest in 2003, the military confirmed Monday.
The incidents came during the same year the camp suffered a rash of suicide attempts after Maj. Gen. Geoffrey Miller took command of the prison with a mandate to get more information....

Attempts, attempts. Why the heck didn't somebody assist them in getting it done!
Stronger panties...
Nothing's worse than a suicide chump!
Dr. Kevorkian is to be appointed as camp physician.
You are what you is, and you is what you am!
"Hold muh Koran and watch this!"
Maybe throwing a couple to the sharks might have cleared up a couple things: helped at least two die, while loosening the tongues of the rest.
Another example of brilliant incomptence by TRTCFIBWBH*

Where's Jack Kevorkian when we need him?
Can you imagine all these guys kill themsleves and then the ACLU jumps in and sues to USA for "cruel and unusual punishment" that lead to their suicides. I think the US did the right thing to "save" them. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when a marine comes in and sees one hanging and says "ah ah ah .. your not getting off that easy!" as he cuts the rope/blanket. Can you imagine their frustration! All the moaning and tapping from the cells as they all cry their hearts out because they didnt get to meet their "virgins?!"
Tonight's dinner menu will consist of 6 feet of rope.
Suicide condemned by the Quran and Hadith...but for interpretation of course.
I guess that rules out the 72 virgins then, eh?
And a stool for dessert...What a missed opportunity...
Twenty-three terror suspects tried to hang or strangle themselves
Twenty-three terror suspects lamely pretended to try to kill themselves in an attempt to get MSNBC to write a dopey article about the horrors of their situation.
They were successful, of course.
I suspect THAT is the real motivation and even if it wasn't, as you said, they got publicity from the MSM.
