Thanks for this info. A group of us FairTax supporters are already planning on lobbying Congress while we're here.
Yup. I can hardly wait.
You are worse than a little school girl.
Why are you obsessed with me?
Have you considered professional help?
You should.
In reply to your post #91:
I can see that you understand my reasons for not supporting Specter. He was expendable.
My animus towards Santorum is deeper than what appears on the surface. He won his seat in Congress by challenging the incumbent for many of the things that he himself is now doing. He is a hypocrite. He backed the pro abort liberal over the pro life conservative. He betrayed those who brought him to the dance when he had a chance to advance the causes that claimed as his. Why? Was it poor political analysis? Was is purely for personal advancement and to protect his seat?
I don't know. Neither is acceptable to me.
Despite the rantings and harrassment of that schoolgirl who has made me the target of his obsession, I have said that Rick CAN redeem himself in the eyes of PA's conservatives, but that it will take more than fancy words at fundraisers. It will take true leadership, action, and the proper votes on the issues that matter. What Ricky needs to remember is that people he has angered the most are the grassroots activists that he needs to get out the vote for him.
Without that support, he is in trouble if he faces a guy like Bob Casey Jr who is a decent, pro life, pro gun Democrat. PA IS a Democrat state that favors traditional values. Casey can win if Ricky doesn't make amends.
That is totally reasonable. Which I knew you would be, despite that realtively newbie poster who follows you around.
Reasonable people do understand.
That's why that stalker doesn't have a clue.
If a candidate sports the "R" flag, he'll salute.
I won't. You have to do more than wear an "R" to earn my vote.
Do you find it reasonable that stalwart conservative Rick Santorum is either duplicitous, blackmailed, taking bribes or spineless? Do you associate yourself with those characterizations?
Beltwayitis - Some reps forget where they came from after too much time in the capitol.
Dan, you know none of that is true with Santorum. He's a Godsend in that cesspool.
Being stalwart would mean bravely sticking to your position in light of attacks against you and pressure to do otherwise for.
Where do you find anything to use that definition to explain little Ricky's action with respect to Specter?
If you still maintain that Ricky was a stalwart, then you must believe as I do that he is not a conservative because he surely didn't defend the positions that he has claimed as his own.
We know what he did. We don't know why he did?
In your deranged mind, are we not allowed to question a politician about his actions and motives?
Are we supposed to pledge our undying support to a pol despite what he does? If you believe that, then you are an even bigger fool than I imagined. If that are not punished in some way, how will they know not to cross us again?
Oh, I forgot. You only care about party power, not principle.
Sorry to have troubled you.
Now, will you quit following me and quit trying to highjack these threads to satisfy your obsession? If you think that I have committed some offense against FR rules, ping the mod. In the meantime, grow up.
Do you remember the first thing Specter said after getting the Judiciary Chairmanship it was something to the effect that his first prirority was to get Santorum re-elected. While that is the first thing that Specter and I have agreed upon in a decade, it does smell of quid pro quo.
D.C. is a rotten place and no one stays pure forever. With that said, I don't think it is reasonable expect our guys to be pure.
And I would certainly trade either of my "Republican" Senators (I'm from Ohio) for Rick
I'm not following you around. I came into the CPAC thread because it is a luminous annual conservative event and I know that FR has been an active participant over the years. And whattayaknow ... there you are making yourself the center of the party. I found it ironic considering I've observed your most recent ill-conceived campaign targeting an individual who happens to be a featured event speaker and admired Conservative stalwart. Yes, stalwart.
People who are going to CPAC are not going to have one less iota of party fun because of my comments here. Badray is a funloving and jocular guy. I just don't like the destructive (IMO) politics he plays.
And such an '06 movement has only been mentioned (on this thread) by you. Badray has said he may vote for Rick. He has yet to lead some great anti-Santorum movement.
Oh, well at least we have served the purpose of keeping this thread bumped.
Thanks for the chuckle. Bump to the top.
What a lineup of conservative leaders!
Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Pat Buchanan, Newt Gingrich, Ann Coulter, Zell Miller, Senators George Allen, Mitch McConnell, Jeff Sessions, Sam Brownback, John Sununu, Tom Coburn, Norm Coleman and Rick Santorum, Phyllis Schafly, Henry Hyde, Bob Barr, Oliver North, Michelle Malkin, Wayne LaPierre, Joe Scarborough, Michael Medved, the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.
All of these leaders, and more, are confirmed speakers at the 32nd annual Conservative Political Action Conference -- CPAC -- February 17-19 in the beautiful Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, DC.
How'd you swing that great rate? Offer a back rub or three to the reservations department?
Thanks for the ping, Nutmeg. Will answer soon...
I sent you a Freepmail. Give me a call. Daytime on Saturday will be very busy for me, but maybe in the evening or on Sunday??
Of course there's always The Caucus Room, about 5 blocks from the JWM. Bar drinks are not much pricier than at the Marriott. Their food is exquisite, and prohibitively expensive - they have venison to die for, but don't ask the price.
Also, only two blocks away is Harry's, in the Hotel Harrington. Very affordable food, healthy servings (sandwiches w/chips, baskets o' fries, chili...), and they have a bar. I don't know the drink prices, but am pinging some who may know (not necessarily in any particular order).
