The President, First Lady and their parents relaxed at the White House today. Former President GHW Bush visited the press corps on duty in the WH press briefing room.
QUOTE OF THE DAY: This week, Washington has been marked by pomp and circumstance. In a free nation, these ceremonies are more than pageantry. They underscore that public office is a public trust. America's elected leaders derive their authority from the consent of the American people, whom we serve. This is a high privilege, and that privilege carries a serious responsibility: to confront problems now, instead of passing them on to future generations.
As long as I hold this office, I promise that I will serve all Americans and will work to promote the unity of our great nation. And working together, we will secure the blessings of liberty, not only for ourselves, but for generations of Americans to come.
President George W. Bush, Presidential Radio Address, Jan. 22, 2005.

Did they call us a banana republic when X42 shut down Pennsylvania Avenue?

Just under 30.00 dollars but that seems to be for each segmint or have I got that wrong. The way I read it it is 29.95 swearing in, parade, yesterday's service etc each so if you want it all makes it very expensive unless I have got that wrong.

Wish the media could know what we think of them. Declining newspaper subscriptions and declining viewership doesn't seem to be getting thru to them.
I would also wish we could convey how much we respect and admire Rumsfeld, Ashcroft, and assorted other administration folks who are regularly abused by the america hating leftists in the media.

I did too I just adore that family they are so strong secure and so full of love they are such an inspiration to heart patients and their families everywhere. Be prudent, take care, listen to your body but dot not let it affect you and your family more than it has to.
In all of the celebrations and ceremonies IMHO you would not have known that the VP had any health issues a great tribute to him and his loving family.

Did you happen to notice that with 142 photos to choose from, YAHOO did not have ONE of the President being sworn in?
Quiet a few of the VP and lots and lots of the VP and Lynne at the balls, but not ONE of the President being sworn in and a minimum of the President and First Lady at the balls. What a bunch of sad sacks!

Yes I did notice. I entered another slide show regarding politics and saw nothing but John Kerry photo after photo after photo at the inauguration.
In one photo Kerry was shown knocking the 'Stetson' (sp?) off a Mass. politico. I hated that kind of thing in grade school. Kerry evidently still thinks it's funny at his age.

I hadn't noticed that Mary held the V.P.'s swearing-in Bible until that picture was posted. I love that Lynn stood by and let Mary perform that duty! Such a classy thing to do.

I've looked everywhere, and that's the one picture I cannot find.

Getting absolutely slammed in Chicago .. whiteout city. I can't even see 30 ft. down to the parking lot two floors down. We've gotten about 11-12" already and it's coming down furiously... probably end up being 14-16". (Glad I got my mus-have provisions early this week, 'cause you can't even see to walk.) This sure is a rough weather weekend in the central and northeast US.
Y'all be safe, dry and careful out there.
