Law forces churches to hire homosexuals

Illinois churches are protesting a new state law that bars them from "discriminating" against homosexuals, contending it robs Christians of their First Amendment freedoms.

Gov. Rod Blagojevich signed the bill into law yesterday amid a demonstration led by the Illinois Family Institute, or IFI, a non-profit group affiliated with Focus on the Family, Family Research Council and Alliance Defense Fund.

The measure adds "sexual orientation" to the state law that bars discrimination based on race, religion and similar traits in areas such as jobs and housing.

The bill was signed to loud cheers and a standing ovation from about 150 homosexual-rights supporters who see it as a human-rights issue. ...

I have the same problem when it comes to forcing landlords to rent to someone who openly violates the landlord's religious beliefs. If the property owner is an official, like a deacon or elder, in a church that teaches premarital or extra marital sex is wrong then why should the law require that person to rent to a couple that wants to live with each other without being married?

When they "contracted" with the fedgov and became an 'artificial entity' (corporation) any constitutional rights they may have had were forfeited and replaced by (gov't granted)'civil rights'. As I said previously, by doing so they forfeited their sovereignty and now their 'civil rights' are at the mercy of bureaucrats working within the 'adminstrative / statutory system'.

Good points about why liberals don't go after Muslims...they know Muslims will slit their throats, whereas Christians will not. This just goes to show liberals are huge cowards. Islam is far more opposed to the liberal agenda than Christianity is, but they attack Christians because we're an easy target that fights back in non-lethal ways. Liberals, deep down, aren't willing to die for their cause.

I am probably about evenly split on this now that I think about it. Either way, I don't feel a church should be required to employ someone who scoffs at their beliefs! It would be like require a Jewish congregation to employ a child care worker who is not Jewish and insists on breaking out the fried ham every day at lunch time. Or requiring a health foods store that caters to vegetarians to employ someone who insists on sitting at the lunch counter every day and eating a big ol' rare hamburger patty.

I would like someone to tell me what draws homosexuals to the clergy anyway.

In order to achieve their lifestyle, they must ignore some of the most basic teachings of the very book they are supposed to hold most sacred. How can these people look themselves in the mirror every day and be satisfied that they are doing the Lord's work, while at the same time they willingly choose a lifestyle so anti-Christian?

Furthermore, how can people allow someone so obviously lacking in morals, and who blatantly ignores the lessons of Bible, be their leader in the worship of our Lord?

The only conclusion I can make is that they are soldiers in a war against God, attempting to draw us away and corrupt us all. Now this last statement might be a little over the top, but if there are any other theories or facts on this matter, I would like to hear them.

Church Building Programs & Sunday TV-Broadcasts get BIG BUCKS (courtesy of tax-exempt donations). Meanwhile, Prayer is removed from Public Schools, Ten-Million Babies are butchered like Dogs, and the Nation descends in an abyss of moral degeneracy.



ISSUE-2 : Who had/has more political power ?

Option-1: US Churches in 1919 (14 years BEFORE tax-exempt status) in their Campaign for Prohibition, without the benefit of CBN's satellite TV network.

Option-2: US Churches in 1998 (64 years AFTER tax-exempt status), with pathetic defeats on the Abortion Holocaust, TV Pornography, Prayer removed from Public Schools, Prayer removed from University Graduation ceremonies, an Educational Disaster, and the culmination of all abominations, President William Jefferson Clinton (with all his decayed baggage of murder, sex scandals, and unparalleled corruption).

There's NO FREE LUNCH (especially from Governments), as clearly taught by Jesus Christ. His "Render Unto Caesar" acknowledged that Rome would demand a Quid Pro Quo (something in return) IF they let Him get away with not paying taxes.

(Exodus 23:8) "You shall not accept a bribe, for bribery makes the discerning man blind and the just man give a crooked answer" (NEB).

(Deuteronomy 16:19) "You shall not pervert the course of justice or show favor, nor shall you accept a bribe; for bribery makes the wise man blind and the just man give a crooked answer." (NEB)

(Matthew 6:24) "No servant can be the slave of two masters ... You cannot serve God and Money". (NEB)

Therefore, GENUINE (I surrender all) Christians are clearly forbidden to accept money or gifts for Silence on Any Issue, albeit spiritual or moral. Church tax-exempt status absolute violates God's clear requirement that Christians say whatever needs to be said, regardless of the consequences or retribution.



ISSUE-5 : US Churches : Frankenstein of Religious & Secular Entities

I’m NOT a lawyer, just an Engineer, so my knowledge of Religious Corporations was acquired slowly after many hours in the Tulane University Law Library (New Orleans).

The US Supreme Court recognizes that US churches are comprised of TWO "Separate But Equal Entities".

Just like US segregation laws before Civil Rights …

Entity A : Religious Piece / Independent of US Government Control

Legal Jurisdiction over Theology, Prayers, Hymns and other Spiritual Stuff, etc.

Entity B : Secular Piece / Potential Slaves to Federal Tax-Exempt Law

Legal Jurisdiction over Money, Property, Purchase Orders for Hymn Books, Insurance Contracts, Payroll, Corporate Officers & Boards of Directors, Zoning Permits, Water & Electric Utility Bills, Salaries, Bonuses, Air Conditioned Dog Houses, Legal Fees, TV and Radio Broadcasts.

IF --- a Religious Corporation is under IRS 501 c-3, then ALL of the Secular Stuff is UNDER FEDERAL CONTROL.



LEGAL CASE STUDY : Bob Jones University vs. United States (1973)

Bob Jones University (BJU) prohibited inter-racial dating and marriage between it’s Staff and Students. The US Justice department said this violated the "pre-eminent" policy of US Racial Integration Policies.

BJU replied that their prohibition against inter-racial dating and marriage rested EXCLUSIVELY on their Theology and Biblical Interpretation. US said that their Federal Integration Policy was more important than BJU’s theology, especially since BJU was a Federal Contractor vis-à-vis IRS 501 C-3.

US Supreme Court ruled against BJU in 1973.

BJU’s Response : Jettisoned their Tax-Exempt Status, so that they could faithfully follow their Biblical Beliefs and Convictions. Moreover, BJU was NOW free to engage in Political Activity to their heart’s content, NO LONGER SPIRITUAL SLAVES to their Federal Tax-Exempt Masters.

I see them viewing churches as safe havens to congregate where prying hetero eyes would not see or notice questionable behavior sneaking around the hallways in the dark of the night. yes, we have a problem with "separation of church and state"...and freedom of religion here.

No kidding! First liberals (homo's are a significant part of that group) claim that speaking God's name and Christmas displays "violate the seperation of Church and state" while at the same time they are going to the Government (to court) to force Churches to hire them! What incredible hypocrisy.
