Keep up with the storm: Eastern United States Weather Forum
"Outlooked"?
"Southeast third of southern New England" ?? No sure where that is (from the words, anyway).
We're having a major snow storm here in Wisconsin today but since we aren't on the east coast or the west coast no one cares except the local news readers who are breathlessly telling us the world will end in a bout half-an-hour (2pm central) from now.
Usually, when they get this hyped up, the storm misses us.
It basically depends now on how fast it moves. Accuweather is doing some serious bet-hedging - forecasting 6-12 with a possibility of up to 18 inches.
"blizzard is being discussed. its legit as a possibility... hard to get with asos but its possible and we're looking at it. no pressure... we'll move on it when if we think its necessary."
Southern New England is usually characterized by Connecticut, Rhode Island, and SE Mass.
Bring It On! I only wish I had the old Polaris ready to go.
By the time I get up to go to church Sunday, the wind-chill is supposed to be near zero...
I was going to make the title "Northern Plains and East Coast" but I got lazy... you guys in the middle of the country are often forgotten, sorry. ;)
That storm just may become a monster on the East Coast tomorrow. Hope you are enjoying your snow. :)
Right now it's 17 below, with a steady wind of 65 MPH.
Makes me feel warmer.
Models have shifted back towards a phasing situation with the arctic and polar jets. If this happens, someone will get crushed with 20"+ snow and near blizzard conditions in my opinion. No telling where that will be at this time though, looks best from N NJ into SE Mass.
There is word that this may be a classic Kocin/Uccellini (if you know them) storm. It's definately fun to watch, should be the biggest storm in a year + for many areas.
Down here in central Maryland, the forecasts are showing 6 to 10 inches, but I generally do not have a whole lot on confidence in them. We will get what we get and deal with it the best way we can!
Looks like an arrow pointing to the weatherman's crotch!
That would be just east of the southwest third of the southeastern Midwest.
