The Prayer Serviceis starting now
Faith of our Fathers.
Consider for a moment how much that says...I think it largely explains the Red States.
President Bush seems to be in very good spirits today.
This whole service is very joyful and emotional for me. I did get tickled when everyone thought the first verse of the Star Spangled Banner was all they would sing. When they began to sing the next verse they all jumped. I think even George was tickled at the end.
PEGGY NOONAN: Way too much God at National Prayer Service.
Ave Maria now
A pox on Fox.
Actually that's the 4th verse!
Ronan Tynan is now singing "Ave Maria."
I'm going to have to go out and get a CD of Ronan...I love his voice!
It's as if someone called me up and asked what would you like to hear sung and the National Prayer Service, Bahbah. I'm becoming a puddle here.
How fitting that the rabbi chose to read from the verse that President Bush's bible was open to yesterday.
Schubert Ave Maria now...lovely singing by Ronan Tynan. Too many times this has been sung by over-warbling Sopranos. Ronan has got it EXACTLY right. This is a simple song...like a German lieder!
He is one of the "Irish Tenors". His legs were amputated in a farming accident when he was young. He put himself through med school, and only late in life took up singing, as a result of winning a contest. He is a very inspiring person.
Beautiful voice.
Something tells me Laura planned this service.
I'm pretty sure Trent Lott didn't choose the music.
How very inspiring and quite a story.
"Love your enemies" verse from Matthew.
