Thank you for posting the words and music and history of the hymns today. I hope to catch a re-run of this service.

I don't know if it was you, or someone else, commenting that "Trent Lott didn't choose the music." And I don't know if that was meant as a dig against the music yesterday, some of which was unfamiliar to most.

I'd like to offer, however, that I was very inspired by the 2 songs chosen which had been written by Senators Hatch and Ashcroft. Although the melodies were new and unfamiliar (so I'm not sure whether I lik them yet) I thought the lyrics were powerful and inspirational. I think that it was great that our Republican Senators (even though we get mad at them from time to time) were showcased in such a manner -- their art used as a tribute to our President's service to the country.

I hope to find those songs recorded somewhere so that I can listen to them again.
