At noon today the MP's had a section of Wilson Road blocked off. It was later announced that 60+ Starlings had all died near the old Anderson Golf Course. The birds were all in a very small area. The post MEDCOM did not find any evidence of toxins, but . . . . . . . .

I think you are on the right track. On a golf course, these starlings munched a fast-working poison as a group, they died as a group. Good riddance.
To: SLB
Someone put out grain and overdid the poison...

"They use a huge amount of chemicals to maintain a golf course.
You wouldn't want to walk barefoot on one."
You better believe the golfers are breathing it in on breezy days. And to think of the outlandish membership fees paid to breath those chemicals in. So smart yet so dumb.

What a coincidence -- I was just looking at the following web pages three or four days ago. We've got a neighbor who feeds wild birds, but the starlings and pigeons she is attracting are pooping all over our cars, house, and property. None of the products I looked at online actually harm the birds, though.
silent birdscarers and audible birdscarers

In our neighborhood, starlings are likened unto rats. We know of no bad method to kill them.

Good! Starlings are an invasive European species - if anything, the Lefties should be thrilled with getting rid of the obnoxious little beggars.

The exact same thing happened here in Washington State about 4 years ago. I think they determined it was some kind of toxin. Where can the Oregon and Washington DOTs get some for the I-5 bridge over the Columbia River.

Proabably.
If the golf course has an ant problem, the groundskeepers could have used granular diazanon on them.
Starlings may have eaten or absorbed some through their feet, voila - dead starling.
Thankfully, the starling population in my area is kept in check due to cats, and blue jays of all birds..

The birds were roosting in a shed where someone had parked a large vehicle. The birds were somewhat back in the shed and were not frightened away when someone came to start the vehicle. It's a cold day, and the vehicle was left running for some time to warm it up. An opening in the shed had been covered with plastic to keep out the cold. A large vehicle with a large engine produces a high volume of carbon monoxide which accumulated in the back of the shed. Birds are sensitive to oxygen levels, and the carbon monoxide which might not have been enough to kill a person was enough to kill the birds. Carbon monoxide poisoning doesn't leave anything exotic in the bloodstream, and the person doing the toxicology screening didn't think to look for it.

My dad once got 75 of the dirty birds with one shot of his 12 gauge shotgun.

My theory? Someone aimed green lasers at the starlings' eyes, temporarily blinding them. The starlings tried to fly, but kept bumping into one another.

The cook was making black bird pie and went out with a shotgun.
In Lexington,Ky there really is a restaurant with black bird pie on the menu.

The starlings tried to fly, but kept bumping into one another. That's why they were found within inches of each other.

No, no!
It was the invisible death ray.
It was really designed to do away with the majestic starling flocks as they make their annual migrations and add to the natural beauty of nature.
Instead it has been turned to evil and sued against people, aircraft, sloths, moonbats, aardvarks, antelopes, macrames...
*wretchingly poor immitation of paranoiac*
