The commentary at FReep Central has been much better than with the talking heads.

I think stills carry more weight because they freeze a moment.

Kudos to everyone that has posted screen shots. They have been excellent.

...with the ultimate goal of ending tyranny in the world."

Ending tyranny in the world? Well that's an ambition, and if you're going to have an ambition it might as well be a big one. But this declaration, which is not wrong by any means, seemed to me to land somewhere between dreamy and disturbing. Tyranny is a very bad thing and quite wicked, but one doesn't expect we're going to eradicate it any time soon. Again, this is not heaven, it's earth.

Last night when she said this to Alan Colmes, my reaction was she and Alan were overreacting and ignoring the phrase "ultimate goal," which jumped out at me. Alan quipped that he wondered how the president could possibly imagine that we could end tyranny in the world in four years, and I expected Peggy to sigh and point out the phrase "ultimate goal," but to my surprise, she agreed with him!

As for her theme "too much God," I am shocked at this from Peggy Noonan.

Speaking of too much God, I LOVED that black preacher who said a prayer at the inauguration, which ended with a very strong, "with a respect for people of all faiths, I humbly submit this prayer in the name of JESUS."

I heard that catty remark from CeCe. I didn't see either one of her parents admonish her. You could tell, CeCe was just spoiling for a fight yesterday. I did hear Shep Smith smack her down once when she made the comment out of the blue that Pres Bush shouldn't assume he would get his SS plan through without "reaching" out to the democrats and Shep said "well, we'll see. But today is about celebration." She looked like she had been slapped. LOL

Laura looks beautiful, but I wouldn't have chosen those dresses for my daughters! I don't think they are very flattering. I really liked the dresses they wore in Vogue much better.

I should have added that I once had a nightgown that looked just like Jenna's dress -- same color too!. And I also had a nightgown cut on the same lines as Barbara's dress without the sparkles. Those girls are so beautiful they could have been breathtaking last night -- instead I just wanted to hustle them into a back room and ask them to change their clothes. Yuck!

I suppose they are headstrong, but doesn't someone have that Vogue picture saved with the girls in Burgundy and Ivory satin?

And I missed not being with all of you, as well. I expecially remember AGreatPer's son -- he looked so handsome in his tux!

This was just not our year, and there may never be another chance to celebrate a great man like President Bush.

Yes, Peggy has done a switcheroo on the speech. She was nocked speechless by it this morning and said that she'd have to study it. Then she made some very affirmative remarks. Now, her article is mostly negative. She must have been talking to some of her liberal Manhatten friends.

...but he must be really FUN to be married to!

I've thought the same thing as long as he has been in the public eye. Yesterday afternoon Fox News caught a glimpse of him after the Inauguration when he was smiling at the camera and then he suddenly wiggled both eyebrows at someone with a twinkle in his eye! It was so cute.

...what has Laura been using on her face. She looks so beautiful.

It's possible that I could find out. One of my good friends is an "esthetician" -- a make up artist to the rest of us. She is also active in the Republican Party here and was chosen to be Mrs. Bush's "personal liaison" TWICE when the campaign came to Milwaukee, greeting her on her arrival and seeing that everybody in the party had the right keys to their rooms, etc.

I know that on one occasion she put together a presentation gift basket of "things Wisconsin" for the First Lady and the President. In the basket, she included some of her exclusive facial products that are made to order for her and marketed under the name of her salon for the President and the First Lady.

The First Lady was very appreciative of the gifts and all of us who contributed recieved a lovely thank you note from her.(My contribution was photgraphs I had taken of the President and Barbara on a prior trip.) My friend also did complimentary facials, make-ups and eybrow waxes for some of Mrs. Bush's pre-event staff and at least one Secret Service woman. I'll ask my friend when she gets back in town if she thinks Laura Bush actually used the samples.

Oh, thanks for posting pictures of the President and the First Lady dancing with the military. That soldier looked as if he were afraid Laura might break! LOL. I imagine that the military did not prepare him for THIS when they were teaching him to face down enemy troops!

But he did very well and so did the lady soldier. I'm certain that women all over America were shooting daggers through the TV screen out of sheer envy that she got to dance with the President! I know I was a little jealous, as was my husband because the soldier was hoding the First lady!

Don't wait any longer to go out dancing. Get some good friends and sign up for dance classes at your local rec center or night school. Tell your hubby that it is aerobic exercise for his heart because you love him so much you want to keep him longer.

My husband & I have been married 46 years and have always enjoyed dancing when the opportunity arises. This summer I started having trouble with my knees, and I'm afraid my dancing days are over. That is the first thing I said, "I should have danced more."

Don't waste any more time waiting for your hubby. Find a class and sign the both of you up. He will find it fun once he gets over the shock! LOL

I'm thankful that the twinkle in his eye is still there.

Think about what he's been through. Think about the burden he bears.

That twinkle, IMO, is an indication that he is resting in the Lord and in HIS love and peace..........and Laura's adoration of him doesn't hurt either! ;o)

I'm afraid the dancing is gonna have to wait. We're fixing to put a big addition on to our home and we're doing the work ourselves. That's the kind of stuff he LOVES to do on his 'off time', since he works in an office doing Statistics all day. I can do without the dancing as long as I can get my new Master Suite and "5 butt" kitchen! ;o)
