Psalm 103: 1-5

Bless the LORD, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

Heavenly Father,

Hallowed be thy Name! You, and You alone, are worthy of our praise. As the Psalmist proclaims, You provide for all our needs both physical and spiritual and pour out Your lovingkindness and tender mercies upon us. How grateful we are that You are merciful to us for we have all sinned and fallen short of Your glory. Your love is so great that You sent Your own begotten Son to atone for our sins and redeem our lives from destruction. How blessed we are to have a loving Father, who hears our prayers and our petitions and watches over us. Accept our praise, O Lord!

We rejoice that You have chosen to bless our nation with another 4 years in office for George W. Bush, a humble man who calls Your name and seeks Your will. Honor his faith and his faithfulness to You by blessing him with wisdom, perseverance, patience, and strength. Be his Comforter and his Refuge from the vitriol hurled his way. Today we have once again seen the grace and the radiance of our lovely First Lady. We are grateful for the love our First Couple has for each other and for our nation. Let their marriage continue to flourish and bloom, providing a wonderful example for today's young people. Watch over all of the First Family and keep them safe from all who wish them harm.

Lord, even as we have enjoyed the Inaugural ceremonies today, we remember those who serve in far lands protecting and defending the freedoms that we have. Keep those in our military close to Your heart and be their Protecter and their Shield. Gird them with cunning and courage as they carry out their dangerous tasks. Hold their families in the palm of Your hand, encouraging them in their loneliness and their fears.

Today we have seen some of the pageantry and the trappings of freedom. We hold up to You the people of Iraq, asking that You bless them as they seek to establish a new government founded on liberty and justice for all. Embolden the people to throw off those who would deter their efforts. Let the emerging new governments in Iraq and Afghanistan serve as an example to all oppressed peoples, showing that they do not have to live under tyranny but can embrace Your gift of freedom to all mankind.

Father, we are grateful to be Americans and to live in a nation where even protestors are given an opportunity to speak. Yet we are disturbed at the viciousness of their words and the depth of their bitterness. We pray for these souls, joyless and misguided, lost to the glories of serving the One True God. Send Your Holy Spirit to soften their hearts and speak to their souls, showing them the Light of the Gospel and awakening them to the peace that passes understanding that comes from inviting the Prince of Peace into their lives. Bless America, O Lord, and watch over our nation! In the Name of Jesus. Amen.

God of our Fathers

God of our fathers, whose almighty hand
leads forth in beauty all the starry band
of shining worlds in splendor through the skies,
our grateful songs before thy throne arise.

Thy love divine hath led us in the past,
in this free land by thee our lot is cast;
be thou our ruler, guardian, guide, and stay,
thy word our law, thy paths our chosen way.

From war's alarms, from deadly pestilence,
be thy strong arm our ever sure defense;
thy true religion in our hearts increase,
thy bounteous goodness nourish us in peace.

Refresh thy people on their toilsome way,
lead us from night to never-ending day;
fill all our lives with love and grace divine,
and glory, laud, and praise be ever thine.

God Bless America, and God use us for Good. We will only be great if we are good, and we can only be good if we follow God...

Amen, Kayak. Of all days, everyone should be praying for our President today!

Lord and Father of all mankind, we praise you for your mercies to this nation. We thank you for a man in the Whitehouse who looks to you...not just seeking your hand, but seeking your face. We plead for your continued grace upon these United States. Lift our eyes to you, just as this President has lifted his prayers to you this day.

We further ask that this city on a hill might be the beacon you would want it to be to all nations. That is the vision you have given George W. Bush....so place that same vision in our hearts as citizens. May the light drive out tyranny where it exists on this earth.

And Lord, as our President breathes the words of freedom, liberty, and justice across this country, we ask that your righteousness would reign down on individuals. Turn our hearts back to you, to our homes, and to our land.

Lastly, Lord, I ask that you would shut the mouths of and confuse those who speak falsely against this president and his advisers. Dispatch their arguments with truth, and hold any intended evil back with your strong arm.

Bless the first family and keep them safe. Give them enjoyment, fellowship, and merriment this evening. Thank you for all those who feared not to name your name this day. And it is in that wonderful name of Jesus that I pray. Amen.

Thank you for your prayers.

Btw, there is a thread every day, though it sometimes gets posted late at night. And there is a ping list. We are glad to add or remove names from the list as requested.

Thanks, kayak.

To: kayak; All

O Lord,

Bend my hands and cut them off,

for I have often struck thee with

a wayward will,

when these fingers should embrace thee by faith.

I am not yet weaned from all created glory,

honour, wisdom, and esteem of others,

for I have a secret motive to eye my name

in all I do.

Let me not only speak the word sin, but see

the thing itself.

Give me to view a discovered sinfulness,

to know that though my sins are crucified

they are never wholly mortified.

Hatred, malice, ill-will,

vain-glory that hungers for and hunts after

man’s approval and applause,

all are crucified, forgiven,

but they rise again in my sinful heart.

O my crucified but never wholly mortified

sinfulness!

O my life-long damage and daily shame!

O my indwelling and besetting sins!

O the tormenting slavery of a sinful heart!

Destroy, O God, the dark guest within

whose hidden presence makes my life a hell.

Yet thou hast not left me here without grace;

The cross still stands and meets my needs

in the deepest straits of the soul.

I thank thee that my remembrance of it

is like David’s sight of Goliath’s sword

which preached forth thy deliverance.

The memory of my great sins, my many

temptations, my falls,

bring afresh into my mind the remembrance

of thy great help, of thy support from heaven,

of the great grace that saved such a wretch

as I am.

There is no treasure so wonderful

as that continuous experience of thy grace

toward me which alone can subdue

the risings of sin within:

Give me more of it.

A PURITANS PRAYER!

SOLI DEO GLORIA!

Amen to all

Thank You, Father, that You have given our President Your joy and no one can take it from him. This joy is his strength and we pray that it would overflow to those around him.

Continue to give him a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You. Fill him with Your Spirit and grant repentance to those around him who haven't acknowledged the Lordship of Jesus.

We worship You for the awesome grace and mercy You have shown us in giving us this godly man to lead us. We praise and bless Your goodness in Jesus' precious and mighty name. Amen.

"May the Sacred Heart of Jesus be adored, glorified, loved and preserved throughout the world now and forever Amen."

May the Lord bless our President Bush on accepting the stewardship of this nation. May those who have ears, hear and may those who have eyes comprehend the words he had so eloquently voiced...So many who do not know of You, dear Jesus, as today they voice their opinions in negative tones. Oh! let their be a new beginning, may the youth of this nation understand the freedoms they enjoy. So many are arrogant, and yet, there are a multitude of youth that profess a genuine love for You, our Savior. May the naysayers hearts be softened,may they seek Your forgiveness for their transgressions. In the glorious name of Jesus we pray.
