A HERO SALUTES
|
|
Casey Owens, a wounded Marine, salutes as his mother Janna Owens cries during the inaugural speech by President Bush. The president pledged to work to heal a country divided by the Iraq war. "We have known divisions, which must be healed to move forward in great purposes, and I will strive in good faith to heal them."

Oh, man . . . That will choke you up -- unless you're a democrat. God bless the man and his family.

really, these are the people we need to have telethons and fundraising efforts for. not that I don't have compassion for the tsunami victims, but there needs to be a similar effort that gets as much media attention and charitable organization efforts for both the families of our KIA and those men who have returned home with significant injuries.
To: crushelits
I don't mind telling you all that this picture brought tears to my 'ol eyes
....The honor and dignity of Casey Owens is astoundingly obvious.

Too bad he and his mother weren't right on the Dais with W. I know several Senators who were there and who should have been replaced with this hero.

The scum protesting near-by are not worthy to be in the same city with this hero. God bless him. Very moving...
