I do, but I wasn't a marching band member. I was a Cardinalette, complete with short skirt, boots, and twirling flags. I think we were patterned after the Kilgore Rangerettes.
We also did half-time dance routines at the basketball games. I once had to turn a cartwheel while holding a broom, dressed in black tights. The song was "Chim-chiminy, Chim-chiminy, Chim, Chim, Cheree."
Now you know my dark secret.
President Bush seems to have perked up!!

Listen to this beautiful song. I should probably know what it is but it is like a prayer. "Heal Our Land"? I really enjoyed the song and the singer -- what a rich voice! Orrin Hatch wrote the song; I guess he's something of a poet. It was funny, though, to see Hillary bopping her head to the music; it is not head-bopping music. She even does it to opera!

The shopping cart group is on. How original they are.
Yup. The Red Hot Mamas from Hayden, Idaho, are back again this year. I remember watching them warm up in the staging area for the 2001 parade.

Only of me in the marching band uniform. My parents weren't picture takers, except for vacations.
There is probably one floating around somewhere from one of the others, but not me. All I have is my yearbook and one band photo.

The Umpa Parade in Ocean City NJ is like that. It is held on April 15th (TAX DAY.) They have a group from the Loyal Order of Raccoons and the Lawn Chair Precision Marching Unit in it. Quite a hoot.
