But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.

Heavenly Father,

We offer up our humble praise to You for all our blessings - for the material possessions you provide; for beloved family; for dear friends and faithful prayer warriors; for life itself, both physical and eternal. On this eve of an Inauguration, we dwell on the history of our nation and we thank You for Your inspiration in leading our forefathers as they established our form of government. We are truly blessed to live in a free nation filled with natural beauty and resourceful people. But the true reason for our greatness as a nation is that we have claimed You as our God and sought to follow Your commandments.

In these last few years we have seen a movement arise that seeks to remove Your name from public places and to discourage the freedom to proclaim Your glory throughout our land. Lord, we pray for those who have been deceived by the evil one and have been led astray. Those who have chosen to live their lives filled with bitterness and hatred and vitriol rather than the great joy that comes from a relationship with You are to be pitied. As we anticipate the Inaugural procession, we thank You that You lead us in the triumphal procession in Christ. Use us, Lord, to spread the sweet fragrance of knowledge of You to those who dwell in darkness. We beseech that You send Your Holy Spirit throughout our land, touching hearts and convicting the lost of their sinfulness that they may seek forgiveness through our Lord Jesus and come to know the joys of abundant life.

We praise You, O Father, for the re-election of George W. Bush to the presidency and we rejoice as he begins another term in office. Guide him through the day tomorrow and in the coming years. Place Your wisdom within him; grant him patience, perseverance, and peace. In the midst of rumors and threats of violence at Inaugural events, we claim Your safekeeping of all those in attendance, especially the First Family and government officials.

Throughout our history our military have served to protect and defend the liberties that You bestowed upon us. Lord, we can never repay these men and women for the sacrifices that have been made for this noble cause but we can lift our present day heroes up to You in prayer and praise. Be their Shield and their Protector. Watch over their families and bring them strength and comfort. We ask these things in the Name and for the sake of Jesus. Amen.

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Our Gracious Father,

We Approach Your Throne of Grace with Joy, our Great God, so Thankful for Your Goodness and Your Mercy towards us! We who are so Unworthy Lift High our voices, Praising and Worshipping His Sovereign Majesty, the King. Dear Lord Jesus Christ, You will be Glorified Forever, for You Raised us from Death, and Quickened us to New Life!

Most Merciful Master, we Plead Thy Special Care and Protection to Rest over our brother-President this Week, as his Venemous Adversaries are still Longing for his Demise. Surround Your servant with Your Strong Angels, my God, Giving them Charge over him, as Thy Word also saith. May our brother be Honored this Inauguration Day before the Entire Universe, to the Consternation and Dismay of his Virulent enemies. Fill Your dear one with Your Love and Your Peace, Your Presence Abiding with him on this Most Joyful of Days. Hold Back any evil ones who would Do him harm, while Cherishing our President in the Palm of Your Hand.

Our hearts Cry to Thee, our King and our God, for the Continual Well-Being and Protection of our Military. Thank You for Preserving their Lives, our Sweet King, and we Praise You for every Victory You have Granted them, in Your Grace. Bring to Justice every Member of Al Quaida, Sovereign Lord, especially those Murderers Bin Laden and Zarqawi. We Pray Fervently for their Soon-Capture or Termination, just as You Granted to us Saddam and his sons.

We Implore Thee for Revival for our Wayward Nation, Begging for Forgivness for the Iniquities of our Sick Land. Infanticide, Perversion, Murder, Lasciviousness; so many Sins, O God, for which our Nation Stands Condemned. We Plead that Thy Blessed Holy Spirit would Move Powerfully among this People, Opening many hearts to our Only Remedy, Jesus Christ.

We Exalt You, our Glorious Father, and Thank You for Hearing our Petitions, as we Pray in the Name of Your Son, amen.

AMEN KAYAK AND AMEN ALL!
GRACE AND BLESSINGS TO ALL BRETHREN!

Lord God Almighty,

I ask not to be enrolled amongst the earthly

great and rich,

but to be numbered with the spiritually blessed.

Make it my present, supreme, persevering concern

to obtain those blessings which are

spiritual in their nature,

eternal in their continuance,

satisfying in their possession.

Preserve me from a false estimate of the whole

or a part of my character;

May I pay regard to

my principles as well as my conduct,

my motives as well as my actions.

Help me

never to mistake the excitement of my passions

for the renewing of the Holy Spirit,

never to judge my religion by occasional

impressions and impulses, but by my

constant and prevailing disposition.

May my heart be right with thee,

and my life as becometh the gospel.

May I maintain a supreme regard to another

and better world,

and feel and confess myself a stranger

and a pilgrim here.

Afford me all the direction, defence, support,

and consolation my journey hence requires,

and grant me a mind stayed upon thee.

Give me large abundance of the supply of

the Spirit of Jesus,

that I may be prepared for every duty,

love thee in all my mercies,

submit to thee in every trial,

trust thee when walking in darkness,

have peace in thee amidst life’s changes.

Lord, I believe, help thou my unbelief

and uncertainties.

A PURITANS PRAYER!

DEAR LORD,
We thankyou for Your infinite mercy on this nation, that today Your servant george walker bush will be sworn in to a second term.
We pray for his safety and the safety of his family and counsel.
We pray that the next four years will have this land be more centered on You.

"Abel was a keeper of sheep."
- Genesis 4:2

As a shepherd Abel sanctified his work to the glory of God, and offered a
sacrifice of blood upon his altar, and the Lord had respect unto Abel and
his offering. This early type of our Lord is exceedingly clear and
distinct. Like the first streak of light which tinges the east at sunrise,
it does not reveal everything, but it clearly manifests the great fact
that the sun is coming. As we see Abel, a shepherd and yet a priest,
offering a sacrifice of sweet smell unto God, we discern our Lord, who
brings before his Father a sacrifice to which Jehovah ever hath respect.
Abel was hated by his brother-hated without a cause; and even so was the
Saviour: the natural and carnal man hated the accepted man in whom the
Spirit of grace was found, and rested not until his blood had been shed.
Abel fell, and sprinkled his altar and sacrifice with his own blood, and
therein sets forth the Lord Jesus slain by the enmity of man while serving
as a priest before the Lord. "The good Shepherd layeth down his life for
the sheep." Let us weep over him as we view him slain by the hatred of
mankind, staining the horns of his altar with his own blood. Abel's blood
speaketh. "The Lord said unto Cain, 'The voice of thy brother's blood
crieth unto me from the ground.'" The blood of Jesus hath a mighty tongue,
and the import of its prevailing cry is not vengeance but mercy. It is
precious beyond all preciousness to stand at the altar of our good
Shepherd! to see him bleeding there as the slaughtered priest, and then to
hear his blood speaking peace to all his flock, peace in our conscience,
peace between Jew and Gentile, peace between man and his offended Maker,
peace all down the ages of eternity for blood-washed men.
Abel is the first shepherd in order of time, but our hearts shall ever
place Jesus first in order of excellence.
Thou great Keeper of the sheep, we the people of thy pasture bless thee
with our whole hearts when we see thee slain for us.

C.H.SPURGEON

SOLI DEO GLORIA!
