By boldly announcing now such an appropriate slate to match their chairman, I believe that the Democrats would in a perfect position for 2008.

That's not true in politics. Voters know less about local candidates than Presidential candidates. Candidates at the top of the ballot have coattails, not vice-a-versa."

It's always a Gubernatorial or Senate candidate that breaks the hold of the opposing party on a state.

I read that the struggle for the chairmanship is a backscenes fight between Lady Macbeth and His Enormousness Ted. Dean is a Kennedy man. If Dean wins - and I hope so - it will help alienate people. Remember when Carter threatened to whip Ted's ass? Ted never forgave him.
