Democrats Sit Out Inauguration

WASHINGTON — If they aren't leaving the capital, they might be going to the movies or spending a quiet afternoon at home. Some even boarded a cruise ship, hoping moonlight and mai tais will take the sting out of President Bush's second inauguration.

These Democrats are in denial, not quite ready to hail the chief they fought so hard to unseat.

"We all know the inauguration is taking place," said Debra DeShong, once a spokeswoman for Bush challenger Sen. John Kerry. "But watching it is like adding salt to a wound."

Democrats in Washington have plenty of company, according to a recent AP-Ipsos poll. Three-fourths of party members say they're worried about a second Bush term.

Ignoring the pomp and ceremony surrounding the inauguration is one way to avoid facing the hard truth. Terry McAuliffe, the outgoing chairman of the Democratic National Committee, says he will be at home watching the movie "Titanic."

" If [Democrat Whiners] aren't leaving the capital, they might be going to the movies...."

Somewhere, Michael Moore just smiled as he stuffed in another slice.

A normal sore looser takes his ball and goes home. A Democrat looser takes his ball and kicks it into the woods.

The election that keeps on giving. This combined with today's news that the exit polls were wrong, a fact most rational people already knew, promises to makes the inauguration an exceptionally superb event to rub the Rats noses further into the poo-poo of defeat. Life can indeed be wonderful at times.

"But watching it is like adding salt to a wound."

More like adding the sunlight of "4 more years" to your election hang-over.

sitting out the inauguration does not sound what democrat party members are really doing.

Republicans were more adult about clinton's elections compared to democrats in 2000 or 2004.

I don't remember backs turned or protests or don't buy anything protests. Republicans did not buy bleechers to turn symbolic backs on the president elect.

Why is fox covering for the looney left?
