She is dizzy, almost wobbly. Her head aches, her coughing won't stop, and because she doesn't have enough money she has not filled her four prescriptions nor seen a doctor recently.
But that doesn't stop her.
Soon it will be midnight, and Ipifania Dominguez will be back at work cleaning up blood, bone and fat in the world's largest pork slaughterhouse. She'll be back in the "head room," as she calls it, where meat is cut from pigs' heads.

This is a good thread.
The sheer moral and intellectual dishonesty of the OBL does not bode well for Bush being able to sell his plan to the American people. "Conservatives" don't do good Al Sharpton impersonations.
His priority should have first been credible border enforcement. Then and only then should he have proposed a guest worker program. Proposing a guest worker program before credible border control sounds exactly like what it is. Surrender. A confession of total failure and helplessness. Punt. To the American people this is not an acceptable answer.
That's exactly correct - PRC spends very little of the production dollar (yuan) on R&D, others do that. They focus on copying and manufacturing. Any business that sends a part or parcel to China looking for a huge cut in production costs has just sent their idea to be covering the globe in 80% cost reduction. People (and businesses) are like water, they'll seek their own level. When people of few ethics deal with people of few ethics, well.....
Most Americans are opposed to rewarding illegal aliens for violating our immigration laws, which a guest worker program, a type of amnesty, would do.
Seems it sold VERY well in November.
More moral and intellectual dishonesty.
Bush dropped his immigration plan the moment he realized he might actually lose the election. It never saw the light of day again till after election day.
Agree!! PRC has zero respect for intellectual and property rights.
That's because they're illegal aliens and if they complain, they'll either be fired or turned over to immigration officials to be deported.
PRND21, to quote one apparently wiser than you, "Look beyond what you see."
No one "forgot". Juan Term, indeed.
Then you should call ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and report them.
I see a sea of red counties. What do you see?
I was told that, as far as human rights for capital criminals, they cremate the dead - if you wish to fight for one's rights, they, in essence, hand you the urn and say, "Mei wenti."
No one did forget.
But Kerry was so horrendous an alternative that conservatives decided to shelve the issue till after the election. Bush never once ran on his plan.
A moderate Democrat running as an economic populist immigration hawk, say, Gephardt, could have beaten Bush.
I'll have to do more research on this.
On the grassroots level, illegal immigration has profoundly harmed Blacks. Some in the political class have this delusion of creating a left coalition of Blacks and Hispanics but I don't see yet which way it will turn.
Grassroots economic distress vs "Rainbow Coalition"
Obviously you guys know you cannot win an argument against the OBL's on this thread. Your only consolidation in life is one day when they are in a nursing home attended to by a slave labor illegal who cannot understand english and they are wanting their rears wiped the illegal will wipe their mouth instead and when their catheders are full and they want it emptied they will instead be given more water.
But look on the bright side. The nursing home owner will be saving a bunch of money!! Isn't that the free market at work!!
I AM paying the prevailing wage. Your wage is predicated on protectionism.
47% of Latino voters voted in favor of Prop 200 in Arizona, so it appears that illegal immigration is a main concern with Latino Americans just as it is with non-Latino Americans.
That's true.
You can't outargue a mouthpiece.
But we can't allow mouthpieces to create the illusion of grassroots support for the OBL.
