King used to fly into large cities with his "I'm not going to tell you to riot" speech (funny how this is ignored since his death) and when the ghetto exploded and cities were burned and looted he would come back and present his list of demands for the "common good of the entire city."(sound familiar?)

King's favor had fallen with the rise of the militants. The media had "moved on" to coverage of the Black Panthers and such. When King was murdered, he had been reduced to doing union work.
