There's truely "an angel in the whirlwind" of this Presidency. I've voted for quite a few Presidents, but I have never been so emotionally involved and committed to any of them as I have w/GWB and Laura. God bless them both.

Speaking of values...........his response to Carl Cameron after he broke the DUI story was revealing.

Only a man of character would say, "Good story. It's alright."

I had never heard that before, but it's completely consistent with everything else I know about him.

At this point, it is hard to imagine anyone else as President and First Lady, doesn't it?

I can't even think about it yet (I'll be like Scarlett O'Hara I'll think about it tomorrow ;-)

We just all need to savor every single day, every moment of this great man's presidency over the next four years. We are indeed living in historic times - his place in history will be among the greatest Presidents: Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan.

Did anyone else get the shivers when they showed the planes hitting the twin towers. And when they showed the President reading to the kids?

Wow!

Indeed, we probably will not truly realize how historic of times until much later. That we even have an inkling of his greatness speaks volumes about who this man, GW, is.

Yes, that little vignette by Carl about W's reaction to him after breaking the DUI story really showed the true measure of the man George Bush, didn't it?

"I was furious at DRUDGE, certain bloggers and the people losing their senses when those numbers hit. The stock market even went on a dive!!"

I remember being shaken after the first wave, and then I had to go to class that evening (couldn't miss it, even on that momentous day--had to give a presentation about the Northeast Blackout of 2003). Anyway, I was constantly checking the reports of the precincts, and become more buoyed by confidence. After class was over, I rushed back to my apartment, where I was hosting an Election Party. Most of the folks who turned out were JK supporters who had come to exult triumphantly in my presence. They ended up leaving early! What a night.

Fox did a story on John Edwards a couple of weeks ago--he has been in New Hampshire and Iowa looking for campaign money and testing political waters!!! Believe it or not!

I believe it .. he did the same thing in 2001

I knew G.W. was going to be the candidate when he became Governor of Texas. Something special about him his father and no other candidate proposed seemed to have.

I remember in '99 when he was going around the country in the initial stages of his campaign, C-SPAN did a thing on him, and I knew, I just KNEW that he was going to be President. And I was ready to vote for him right then and there, before I even knew who the other Republican contenders might be.

Nor I, Carolina. He is the 11th President in my lifetime (the 10th I remember), and I have never felt this kind of emotional/spiritual attachment to any of them before........not even Reagan, whom I loved.

It continues to be remarkable to me, because it increases, not diminishes with time and with what I learn about him.

The look in his eyes was unbelieveable, and to see the full footage of the video while he sat there and absorbed what he had been told was amazing.

Funny thing about all this talk of Values. IMO, 2000 truly defined the power of values as an issue.

You make a good point. At the event I referred to the President addressed personal responsibility, from loving ones neighbor to getting involved in the local school if it wasn't working. And in some subtle way he spoke to those of us Clinton had sent adrift.

I become more and more convinced that this man is a President for the ages, a President sent to us to lead us through some very trying times and events. And I didn't feel that way even for Reagan at the time.

The measure of a man and the depth of his Christianity.

No human resentment.........just another, "Good job."

God is truly in this man.

Wow, this is my experience as well. When Clinton was in office it was like the adults went on vacation and the teenagers took over the house. Now we have an authentic president. Not perfect, but a man who is doing what he thinks is right for the country he loves. History will judege GWB kindly.

It was good. Tune in if you can. :^D
