Hey everyone,
Been gone awhile but wanted to let all know that I'm back and am officailly a Airman (1st classs) in the United States Air Force.
BMT was an expierence...you have to go through it to understand it.
Well, I have to keep this short....I'm stationed at Goodfellow right now preparing to start classes for intel.
I completed basic in April 83. Getting ready to retire.
Great job making it though Air Scouts Camp!
ex-Navy
Thank you for your service
Congratulations and welcome back!
May God Bless you and keep you safe.
Last week of Jun - first week of August. New dorms. Blue flag halted outdoor activity 9 days out of 10. Made me madder than heck. My feelings were if you couldn't take that heat, go be an accountant. I liked the Air Force overall but I ended up in SAC. Communications tech AFSC 30554 worked on the Launch the Nukes Message Delivery System. 10 months at Keesler then, McConnell AFB Kansas Top Secret with Crypto access. BORING. Should have gone in the Army.
Congrats. Dont know how easy AF Basic is, I heard its a walk, but itys more than most people do.
Thanks for the ping, TGYC!
Congratulations and thanks to you and your wife, Blue Scourge.
I thought it was a 241...guess that lets you know I got one pulled on me.(D'OH!)
Congratulations and Godspeed to this brave soldier, and to all who fight for our right to live, and to post, as free people.
Thanks for the ping!
Welcome back, Blue Scourge! Kudos!!!
God bless you for Serving! Thank you thank you thank you!

I can still understand German!
I went into Engines (43250)through Delayed Enlistment, CG.
C-130s Flightline at Little Rock for 3 1/2 years. Reserve at Andrews AFB with 130s. Got C-141s in 1981.
Transferred to Generation (Crew Chief/Support) Did many TDYs all over. Most of the 141s went to the Sandbox during Desert Storm, Afghanistan and Enduring Freedom. Most of the Unit stayed stateside and were the Last Stop Gas & Go before crossing the pond. While others went to the Med.
We have KC-135s now and expect to get busy towards the end of the year.
Jack.
McConnell was KC135s and Titan II missile sites. Went a lot of places on KC135s. Most of my time was spent on PMs and repairs at Missile sites.
"Summer of 72 it was one hot mother."
Summer of 68 was even hotter.

Whoops, almost forgot, congrats Airman!
We had an abbrieviated range, almost like shooting at my outhouse at home and when I went down for standing to prone rapid fire and the spotter put up a "descending balloon" pattern, I screamed bloody murder.
I looked down at my carbine's rear sight and saw that it had racheted with each shot squeezed off.
The range officer told me I still qualified with a low-expert but I begged him to hand me a different weapon, any one of those on range, give me four rounds to sight it in and I would tear the center out.
He thought about it awhile and decided to humor the "hillbilly" and grabbed a piece from the guy to my left.
I did as I said and when finished I asked for the cleaning supplies.
He just looked at me kind of funny and said, "We clean the weapons here, we don't want anyone messing them up."
What does this mean? Are you part of the military now? LOL. Just kidding. BTW, I have a BS from Angelo State. It's a cool town. Go to Aunt Maggies Kitchen on Avenue L...that real TexMex food!
