Per Foxnews Alert.
210,000 people have died in the Tsunami.
The worst disaster in the last 300 years.
The truth is, there is no way to ascertain how many people died.
Would you alllow armed Indonesian troops Florida?
I think not.
Well now, that's an interesting point that you raise. Perhaps the liberals who are in favor of population control and euthanasia are being hypocritical. Are these people in Indonesia, those who are elderly and infirm, worthy of the money and time it will take to salvage their lives?
I would say that those fears of the Central Government are doubled in Aceh, which is already fed up with what the Acehnese see as "Javanese Colonialism".
I guarantee you that if you surveyed the people in Aceh, they would be near unanimous that our guys (and the Aussies and others there to help) should stay as long as the need remains, and that their gratitude is boundless and expressed every day to our guys and girls, in person.
Your first quote - that set me off......
>>>Their Governments are not more corrupt than ours is!<<<
Your second quote - which I fully agree with.....
>>>I did not call "us" corrupt, but as I read this book I am completely confounded that such a one as John Kerry could weasel his way into one of the most exclusive clubs in the world. That man is simply unworthy. He should be expelled from that body.<<<
Your second quote is much more finely drawn than the first.
I can totally agree with that point. Kerry is a corrupting influence on our government. However, one man alone does not corrupt our whole system. I will never accede to your point in quote #1 .... that we are equally corrupt as S.E. Asian dictatorships.
What's always amazing / or to be expected, rather / is that reporters don't even editorialize and inject some sanity into the story - namely, as you say - that this is SOP.
They're still counting the take from oil for food.
True.
