But wasn't that before Bush's time in the ANG ..?? Or before Bush had finished his training. The statement I remember is that the AF was not sending the F-102 to Vietnam. Maybe they had previously .. but they were not during the time Bush was flying it.

It just occurred to me that if Kerry had gotten that deferment to Paris, he would have been there when his buddies, the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong, were.

I am suggesting that we coin a new phrase..
The Dan Rather Syndrome.....
The Dan Rather Syndrome, is where your boss has you take the blame for a cluster F.... and he has you take the fall.
For example:
"I got fired as a result of the Dan Rather Syndrome.. My Boss made me take the hit for his f... up..."
Let this be Rather's legacy.....

Not only that, but Kerry's first year was spent out in the middle of the ocean, SAFE. His second tour was meant to be a year stint patrolling the coast of Vietnam, thought at the time to be a very safe and JFK-Like move for Kerry. 3 weeks after his transfer and start of second tour he got reassigned to missions up river. He never had any intention of getting into the thick of things, and when he did, he accidentally wounded himself at least 2 of the 3 times he was wounded and received purple hearts. He was out of there shortly after that.

I know that if you check the Harvard University Newspaper (I think its named Crimson something) archives you can find an article about Kerry that mentions he sought deferments to study in Paris and was denied. Who knows though, it will go down in history like that chick he was fooling around with that ended up in Africa.

When President Bush reminded our nation that he has been honorably discharged from his service to our nation, I believe he was comparing himself, subtly to Kerry.
I still believe that Kerry was dishonorable discharged for consorting with the enemy.
And I suspect that his dishonorable discharge was set aside via Carter's move to pardon cowards, or those who fled America because they disagreed with fighting communists in Vietnam.
I also suspect that the reason kerry refuses to RELEASE all of his records, something the press had the DUTY to inform America of because he was RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT, is because of his betrayal of our nation after he returned to the States from Vietnam.
I believe our President and many others with access, know kerry's full record, but the PRESS would not demand that Kerry come forward and release his records.
Like billy the rapist klinton, who would not release his medical records, kerry and all democrats get a free ride when it comes to exposing their past. Americans are NOT ALLOWED to know the full truth of the character and nature of the people they put up for President. Thanks to a press corp that protects them.
