FLASH: Bush: 'I don't see how you can be president without a relationship with the Lord'...

FLASH: Bush: 'No women in combat'...

President Bush granted THE WASHINGTON TIMES an extensive and exclusive interview late Tuesday, sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

President Bush said yesterday that he doesn't "see how you can be president without a relationship with the Lord," but that he is always mindful to protect the right of others to worship or not worship.

Mr. Bush told editors and reporters of The Washington Times yesterday in an interview in the Oval Office that many in the public misunderstand the role of faith in his life and his view of the proper relationship between religion and the government.

"I think people attack me because they are fearful that I will then say that you're not equally as patriotic if you're not a religious person," Mr. Bush said. "I've never said that. I've never acted like that. I think that's just the way it is.

Reporters Rowan Scarborough, Joseph Curl and James Lakely, along with TIMES chief Wes Pruden, probed Bush during the White House session.

The paper plans at least 3 stand alone stories.

That's just WHAT the way it is? That they're not patriotic, or that's simply the state of affairs where people attack him for that?

Well, heck... as backslidden as I might be... I would submit that I couldn't get through a week without my relationship with the Lord, either.

Sometimes I think I have a high-stress job, but I can't even imagine the pressures that a President endures.

The ACLU is going to sue to block President Bush from assuming office. They will argue that Bush in the White House violates "Separation of Church & State."

Isn't it a part of a typical prayer - that the plagues of utter confusion and imbecility are to be visited (or amplified and strengthened if already there) upon the DU?

After reading it a few tijmes, I think it means its just the way people attack him, but the clumsily phrased comment struck me also, hence why I reread it a few times.

ACLU would lose. The phrase "separation of church and state" does not appear in the Constitution.

In order for anyone to attack him for this stand of faith, what they really would be saying is that anyone who has a relationship with the Lord is not qualified and should therefore be barred from being president.

Will he stop that soon?

I hope!

The media may use "Mr. Bush" in the second graph after "President Bush" or "the president."
It may not use "Bush."
