A California atheist's lawsuit to prevent Christian clergy from praying in the presidential inauguration should be dismissed because it is a recycled case about an issue that does not violate the U.S. Constitution, attorneys for President Bush said. "There is no reason to 'reverse course' and abandon a widely accepted, noncontroversial aspect of the inaugural ceremony after over 200 years of this proper solemnization of a national event," the president's attorneys said in a 65-page response to the suit...

Ping!
Whatever happened to our right to practice our religion without persecution? The left want to take away that right on indefensible grounds.

A fitting conclusion to the President's brief would have been, "As ever, I remain your humble servant in Christ...and God save this Honorable Court."
Didn't you know? You are only a victim of persecution if the Left says you are. If you happen to be a white christian male you are never, ever, allowed to be a victim unless you are handicapped or gay.
You have that right. Exactly.
Where does it end? I am sooooooooooo sick of these idiots.
As the most visible face of the anti-Christian left, he is sufficiently unlikable that he may actual be very helpful in getting main stream America to tell the collective lot of them, enough is enough. (Activist judges are always a risk though I suppose.) A more engaging character fighting his causes may actually win converts. "Newdow-Dem 2008", I say.
Newdow is a sociopath IMHO. It's only a matter of time before he completely messes up. I just hope he doesn't kill someone in the process.
It doesn't end till we stop it, or Jesus returns, whichever comes first.
Appeal to tradition may not be the best approach here. The ACLU could argue that if the presence of a tradition is sufficient to establish a law, and the tradition is Christian, then such law would violate the Establishment clause.
Indeed, if this nation elected, perish the thought, an Atheist president -- or, e.g, a Bhuddist president, and that president would prefer not to swear on the Bible, no Bible-swearing would take place. The attributes of the Oath of Office reflect the religion of the office holder. When the office holder happens to be Christian, he follows Christian practices. No establishment of religion occurs when a Christian president swears on a Christian Bible.
You are wrong. Appealing to tradition is the only argument that courts will accept in these things.
Anything else and it WILL get struck down.
Newdow has so used his 15 minutess of fame.
Newdow needs to be gang tackled and taken down.
I don't care how big and loud you are, without an equally sized group of friends you are nothing New-duh.
