Liberals have often left me teetering on the brink of insanity after hearing them speak, but after watching the repeat of Hannity and Colmes I am beyond words (well I am really not because I am writing this now). They had this professor on from the University of Texas named Robert Jansen who said he hopes our country loses the Iraq War. Now, I don't know if simply rooting for your country to lose (or in other words rooting for the enemy and death of our brave soldiers) in a war is criminal (maybe some law freepers can help me on that one), but as a teacher, this guy left me with no doubt that he should not be aloud to be in a classroom indoctrinating young people to his sick views. In fact if he preaches what he was saying on the show in his class, I am postive what he is doing is some form of treason (no way, liberal and treason in the same sentece?!?!). I am going to email The University of Texas and everyone on here should do so too and demand that they fire him for his treachorous acts (hopefully, they will at least watch him and ensure he does not preach his evil to his students or maybe we can just get all students there to drop his class, at least the ones who don't hate America). I'm for firing the guy. Traitors are traitors. Would you allow an avowed Nazi to teach kids? He could still get his swill published in some lefty rag of which there are many. He would still have his freedom of speech, but he could not pollute the minds of impressionable students. Moreso, if he's a far lefty, he's automatically incompetent. I've studied under a number of liberal professors. None of them were traitors like this piece of excrement. Firing a rat is not the same as censoring him.

Do we always have to drag out the "avowed Nazi" straw man? I'm sure we both agree on liberalism, but come on, it's not the same thing by a mile. And if speaking against the government is the definition of a traitor I guess I'm a traitor too. Does that mean I can't be hired as a teacher, because I've been against some government policies? This loyalty stuff--who determines who's being loyal?--smacks of the worst totalitarian behavior.

I don't really care, to be honest, if he'd have been tolerated in WW2. I don't care for state-worship; I'm much more into individual rights. His opinion that he would like to see our side defeated in wartime is just that--an opinion. Were he to take action to do so, I'd be the first to call for him to be dealt with. But saying something I personally object to doesn't make him a treasonous individual.

The liberal view is that conservatives get more than their fair share of control and 'right of free speech' within corporations.

They are blind to their control of universities and see it much as Foxnews purports to offset CNN, ie 'fair and balanced'.

But, it would be nice to rattle off a rant and have it come out exquisite wouldn't it? I have trouble with the unspelling ungrammatical fingers too.

That is why we are taught it writing class to write your essay (rant) and then leave it for a few minutes. Come back, reread it yourself carefully then edit. It works great.
