I'm for firing the guy. Traitors are traitors. Would you allow an avowed Nazi to teach kids? He could still get his swill published in some lefty rag of which there are many. He would still have his freedom of speech, but he could not pollute the minds of impressionable students. Moreso, if he's a far lefty, he's automatically incompetent. I've studied under a number of liberal professors. None of them were traitors like this piece of excrement. Firing a rat is not the same as censoring him.
Do we always have to drag out the "avowed Nazi" straw man? I'm sure we both agree on liberalism, but come on, it's not the same thing by a mile. And if speaking against the government is the definition of a traitor I guess I'm a traitor too. Does that mean I can't be hired as a teacher, because I've been against some government policies? This loyalty stuff--who determines who's being loyal?--smacks of the worst totalitarian behavior.
