I need help from anyone local to Carson City, Gardnerville, Minden, or as far away as Reno if no one closer can help.
I am snowed out, I cannot reach home due to 3'-5' of semi compacted heavy wet snow.
Nothing I have with four wheels can get through.
Tried a Jeep with chains and posi rear, tried a "Coot" 4x4.
Perhaps someone has a tricked out 4x4 that can make it, but nothing near stock will.
I have to either borrow, rent, trade something, or SOMEHOW gain use of a snowmobile for a couple of hours Monday!
If not I will be forced to hike about two miles through deep wet snow in order to take care of our livestock. Snow-shoes MAY make it possible for me to hike it, but I will be almost certainly be disabled for several days afterward if I go that route. Not kidding, my sciatica will be very bad after such an ordeal.
Snow like this has not come to this area since 1990. Posting this is my desperate act, I really do not want to have to make that hike on foot!
I can be reached by e-mail, sia@pyramid.net or phone (775) 782-4342
Wish I could help. Good luck and godspeed to you! Let us know how everything turns out.
I'm way over on the East coast........but I will pray for you
Could you arrange for a helicopter?
I can't help from Texas put I'll give ya a bump and a prayer.
All I can do is BTT. Not quite as bad in Idaho but we got a foot of the white stuff on the lake last night with more to come. Good luck!
BTTT
or, would a snowmobile go there?

Wish I could help you buddy, but I'm on the other side of the summit. Cross country skis will be easier on you than snow shoes. Cold comfort, I know.
The best of luck to you!
rural bump
Too far away, but close enough to bump.
Really HATE the idea of going to ANY kind of Gov. Org., good normally self reliant republican kind of thing.
I actually do have a snowmobile of my own, but it's in need of repair, and at home.
I think I would rather make the hike than contact Gov. Org., I live so far away from town in order to maintain the illusion of privacy.
It should.
Probably the only vehicle with a snowball's chance.
Richard, Call the police and see if they can help you
if it can, however, at least your taxes will have bought you something useful. call the humane society and aspca. do not call peta!
See post #14
I'll walk it first!
I lost my respect for the local L.E. when they pulled me over and then beat me, all for no legitimate reason, then perjured themselves to cover their a**'*
If it makes you feel better -- they're not a government organization, they're a private non-profit.
B4ranch may have some ideas.......Good Luck !
