Hume etc.

A journalist can be a commentator, but a commentator cannot be a journalist.

In other words, a journalist does actual reporting, but can also do opinion pieces. But, if you are just a commentator like O'Reilly, you are not a journalist.

Not too much slight of hand, seemed to me he was pretty darned blatant about it

"I don't think anyone could forgive him after he had that love session with Rather."

I had hope for Oh Really when he asked Dan Blather about Juanita Broderick.

Dan Blather said "That was a personal sex life".
Oh Really didn't say anything else about Juanita.
I take it that both Dan and Bill think rape should only be a mans personal sex life.

Last time I watched this POS.

How about his newspaper column, certainly he could be considered as much of a journalist as say Dowd or Krugman

All your facts about O'Reilly are true and I wanted to add that he was also hot to trot on getting Kerry on his show before the election. Well, it didn't happen and I think O'Reilly knows he sucked up to no avail and it only made him look ridiculous.

Only to the uninformed.

Nobody watches or watched him. Irrelevant IMO.

You know, you bring up a good point. Seems O'Really has a problem with stereotyping women.

O'Reilly was a total sh*theel to the Swifties during the election. He's dead to me.

On the other hand, Gardner deserves any good he can gain from the aftermath of this circus, and we are forever indebted to him and his peers.

Did I mention that Bill O sucks?

Like Kerry gave a crap. O'reilly has marginalized himself trying to play to both sides like he is objective. "loony left" and the "Wacko right". Does he really think that the middle was going to increase his ratings and does anyone want to watch 'direct' commentary opinion shows from the middle. Kiss of death. The right got him where he is and then he left us standed.

It is all about Bill.

I think to a degree he was just a coward. He was catching a tremendous amount of crap from the left and he didn't have the guts to tough it out so he moved toward the middle to appease and be able to say "See look at me I am not a righty like you say i am"

I caught him today lamenting the fact that the media has turned on him and that he "being the all knowing and fair minded Bill" gave them a chance and now he is going to shut them out. Made me want to puke. Says he admires Stern and Rush for never talking to the press and now he knows why --- when in the past he made fun of them for not talking to the press. Paranoid.

He plays the martyr like a fool. Not falling for it.

..not a journalist.

I'm not sure that term even has relevance today.

I can't think of one decent "journalist".

He said he admired Rush? Not too long ago he was taking hits at him. LOL

Kinda lonely at the top when you alienate your base. The MSM was never going to be his friend, and conservatives don't like being spat on to kiss up to the liberal elite.

Priceless.

Is Bill aware the symbol of Republicans is an elephant? Long memories.

If he's repentant, he'll be willing to spend the next 10 years paying his dues. If he's still the opportunist I believe him to be, he'll fail in this makeover tour.
