Yeah, I noticed that. Some combination of 'traitor', 'scum' or 'FAG'. Counting repititions there are 6 different permutations possible with three terms!

Only one or two on that list that aren't conservative?
Chicago?
A Beautiful Mind?
American Beauty?
Shakespeare in Love?
Titanic?
Forest Gump?

If you think any of the above are conservative then you are smoking something and need to haul your ass back to DU.

The only films on that list this conservative recognizes are Lord of the Rings and Braveheart. ROK was only recognized because because it was the capstone on a monumental series.

'American Beauty' was the exception I was thinking about. Titanic was as old fashioned as movies get these days. It was embraced by everyone when it came out. Forrest Gump wasn't conservative? Michael Medved, John Simon and Lynn Cheney all liked 'Shaklespeare in Love'. When I said conservative I meant old-fashioned.

This time around he should be a middle-aged cop struggling to protect a burgeoning civilization. Plenty of opportunity for messianic imagery and christian morals there.

I know that Mel, George Miller (director of MM), and I think Bruce Davey spend many hours in George's kitchen developing a story line. I'm sure they had a few angles on the plot.

Sure wouldn't hurt to drop Icon a line, and put another bug in their ear!

George Miller is a cinematic genius. He's only made 6 films and all six are masterful (3 Mad Max films, The Witches of Eastwick, Lorenzo's Oil and Babe:Pig In The City)

That's more plausible. Scorsese still claims to be a believer. Don't you think Gibson, with his film had a bit of primal scream therapy himself at how he feels the Church has gone too liberal? Catholic themes are all over Scorsese's films. TLTOC just literalized them. The ironic thing is that the Vatican wouldn't subscribe to either Scorsese's or Gibson's ideas about the faith. As for knowing it wouldn't make money...some things just aren't destined to appeal to a mass audience. It all depends on how many 'consistuencies' of viewers you can appeal to. BTW: That 'Easy Riders' book, while a completely addictive read, has been discredited by just about every director that Biskind quoted...saying he misrepresented them completely.

I just had to toss in the observation Medved makes in his autobiography as to how the anti-war movement was barely extant until Prez. Johnson ended the college deferment for grad and professional schoolers. Then and only then did the campus hell-no-we-won't-go marches and riots begin in earnest. The only post-graduate havens remaining were in med school and the seminary and this far more than any schmutz to come out of Vatican II caused the ruinous liberalization of the american church as the priesthood was suddenly overwhelmed with the worst kind of people, joining up for the worst possible reasons.

'The Last Temptation of Christ' wasn't nominated for a Best Picture Oscar

Butlook at it this year. Every one of the winners of the various awards ia an attack on conservatives and/American values.

HOLLYWEED IS TOTALLY INSANE.

. . . totally ignorant that there IS an ALMIGHTY GOD in His Heaven watching their every breath and move.

HE is NOT amused.

It's not just that they ignore THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST--they add insult and hideocy to injury by praising corrupt, evil, bankrupt subjects in other films.

It's as though they give God the finger, then fart in His face and leave a stinky pile on His doorstep.

Having sown this, I wonder what they think they'll reap. Oh, that's right, they pretend God doesn't exist. They are their own gods.

What insanity. What rubbish.

I only wonder how long God will delay His response. I have 0.00000% doubt that He will respond and that it won't be pretty. I also don't doubt that God is going to be responding more dramatically and closer to the triggers than He ever has in history before. I just don't know when this closer pairing of trigger with the reaping will begin.

I wouldn't be investing in real estate in critical areas there.

What an era we live in. And it's hardly even begun to START getting REALLY interesting. But it will.

And IDIOTS have idiotic tastes.

I don't recall any generation or country in all of history destroying itself like we are.

What country in history has essentially coddled, aided, supported, abbetted their enemies like we have--whether it's Jihadis or whomever has it in for us . . . we have been idiots repeatedly.

And that doesn't even begin to touch our destroying our values, morals, social fabric, public integrity, the family etc.

I consider it a spiritual movie vs a religious one.

Hollyweed is religious in it's hostility to God.

In any case, in terms of Hollyweed, the MSM, our universities--anyone who believes in God at all--much less has a good relationship with Him--is not only hyper-conservative by definition in their eyes--but is CONSIDERED BY THEM to be a prime candidate for the funny farm.

Talk about PROJECTION! Sheesh.

Art imitates life with it's glorification of a chronic, growing death wish.

HOLLYWEED is indeed beyond sick and beyond evil.

Actually, it's working hard at being beyond the beyond.

"If he wins will he mention the torture young children go thru at the hands of these criminals"

Bacon's film shows the pedophiles side of his "problem". It makes you sympathize with a pedophile. Kevin Bacon is dead to me. They, Hollywood, take something "taboo" or "controversial" and think they have the right to "explore" it. Recently a friend came to work - a guy who sees every movie that comes out, as a matter of policy - and told me he saw some sick movie where 2 thirteen year old boys sleep in the same bed and masturbate each other. The mom smokes pot with them, and the movie kinda lets it all slide, like it was cool or something. Then there's that Kidman movie, once again breaking down "the barriers" - of good taste.
Then along comes The Passion of the Christ. Wow - a movie unashamedly with an agenda which touched this agnostic (and once anti-religious jerk) deeply. Mel deserves not only a trophy but a knighthood. And if God exists, a set of wings.

It sounds like you are happy to be an apologist for Hollyweed and it's values and tendencies while dissing THE PASSION.

Further, that you are proud of that stance.

Fascinating.

I think you missed the point of THE PASSION.

The Cross etc was not 'staged' for entertainment.

The suffering was not experienced for diversion value.

The movie was not made to relieve boredom.

The movie was excellent at portraying more accurately than ever before, the most critical point and event in the history of all Creation.

It wasn't made for a laugh track.
