"Moore suggested that the Dems need to find likeable candidates, and threw out a number of names, including Oprah, Tom Hanks, Obama and various members of the Kennedy clan."

It's very clear that the dems are interested in power at any cost and the country to d@mned.

Today Show "Elephant Man" ping.

PS: I know that many FReepers rightly object to the "lookism" inherent in criticizing people for their weight. But in Moore's case, there is something about his excess avoirdupois that stands in contrast with his fundamental argument that we are a society of rich, indulgent, selfish people. That makes his girth fair game IMHO.

Michael Moore is the personification of the democratic party... Keep fighting for that secular socialist democracy Moore... longer you and the dems keep fighting for that goal, the more irrellevant you all will become.

Didnt he say something about Ohio and black congresscritters not being heard in Congress, implying that because they are black, they won't be heard. I just caught a nanosecond of this crap.

Those evil pharmaceutical companies - Merck, Pfizer, etc. - have donated millions of dollars in cash and much-needed medical supplies, including live-saving antibiotics - for the victims of the tsunami. How much have Moore and Couric given?

I was channel surfing and heard Katie mention Moore and wondered if you would post today! I just cannot watch so thanks for the report.

"That's right, the profit motive, the driving force that has brought us virtually all of the world's innovations in every field including health care, should be abolished, to be replaced by government bureaucracy."

They just do not get it..

When did Katie Couric start thinking, for a change?

Coupla things; first, Happy New Year!

Then, I would hope that we can cut a deal with Moore: my industry will talk with him, as long as he swears never to use any drugs that our research has produced.

Finally, there is a huge billboard near Times Square (the west side of Seventh Ave. just north of 49th St.) dedicated to the Today Show. Above their pictures it says: "America's First Family"

We should write them and tell them that's obnoxious. The Bushes are America's First Family.

First off, thanks A BUNCH for your unflagging diligence in keeping us all up to date on K-K-K-Katie (that's from a really, really old song for you sprouts). I can't bear to watch her.

MM says "the profit motive should be entirely removed" [from the healthcare industry]. And of course it should be removed from the oil & gas industry, too! Mention, however, "the profit motive" as regards trial lawyers or the movie industry and we've got an entirely different story, don't we?

I am so sick of MM, and I'm hoping a lot of other people are, too.

Putting in a plug for socialism, he asserted that health care was a right, and that "the profit motive should be entirely removed" from the area.

What a coincidence! I was recently thinking that seeing mock-umentaries is a right and the profit motive should be entirely removed from the area! ;-)

"Pure evil," was Moore's unequivocal response. Putting in a plug for socialism, he asserted that health care was a right, and that "the profit motive should be entirely removed" from the area

You know, when I read stuff like this I just shake my head. Now normally, my first reaction to a statement such as this is to laugh, but when I think about all the millions of leftist moonbats who are actually going to take this to heart, it almost makes me want to cry.

Two things:

First, thank you for writing up substantial reviews, rather than "Hey! Did you see what Katie said to Michael Moore??" like too many do.

Second, this really reminds me of what Ann Coulter just said:

"I’m rooting for the faction of the Democratic Party—like Nancy Pelosi, quoted in yesterday’s New York Times, and I think this is the dominant faction—taking the position that our ideas are fine. That’s right, class, do not change anything about what we believe. We’ve just got to package the wine in new bottles. We need a new way of delivering our message, but the message is perfect! We just need to advertise RU-486 at NASCAR or something—that’ll do the trick!"

Tom Hanks wants no part of this asshole and lemme tell you something else...the drug companies are indeed price gouging scumbags but they do help and cure tens of millions of people a day in this country and save lives. They will bury Moore at the end of the day and when it comes to saving his life...I wonder if Moore will demand some of those same drugs from those companies he is trying to smear?

The clock is ticking on Moore's fame and heart.

-Turning to his next film, which will focus on (read: attack) the drug industry, Katie asked whether Moore was willing to give the drug industry any credit for curing various diseases, or whether to the contrary he saw them as "pure evil."

"Pure evil," was Moore's unequivocal response.-

Look, Fat Boy, after your arteries are completely hardened and you're half dead in your hospital bed, you'll be demanding doses of "pure evil" to save your sorry as$.

Interesting that he didn't apply Clinton's name in there. Could there be a rift in the Hollywood/Clinton relationship? I agree, let Moore speak for the next four years. He only exemplifies why the Dems lost and why Hollywood doesn't get a second look for their opinions.
