here in Ky. You have to sign the book to vote...I assume every state has some variation on this.

I show up, give name and address. I do not show ID and do not sign anything. (My town has 2,500 residents and one precinct.)

Thanks for the ping.

To torture lefties, the next time they complain about GW winning, tell them, "We will make voter id ing the law at all elections. Voter fraud will be treated as treason."

They go beserk.

Didn't Fund also beat his girlfriend? Seem to recall that a few years back.

No, I don't think he beat her, the girl was nuts. What he did do was this: He was nailing this older lady. Then he started nailing the lady's daughter. Then he paid for the daughter to have an abortion. Then she went psycho on him, then she retracted it all, and I think he got back together with her.

Tell 'em that it requires facial recognition software and palm print with retinal biometrics confirmation and they'll go into absolute apoplexy.

This year, I was a poll worker in NC, and was told the books and ballots would be studied by Bd of Elections for two yrs.

Also, we have to sign a book in order to vote; and I was told that the signatures would be checked with voter registration form (new registrations I'm guessing).

No ID required.

I use metrosexual to refer to the meticulously groomed east coast, media republicans. Tucker Carlson is their poster boy.

Not confined to the east coast. Check out Rick Perry of Texas. He is a lot prettier than Ann Richards and probably not as masculine.

Write-in ballots where you write the name of the candidate you want to elect.

Are there really states where you don't have to sign ANYTHING when you go to vote? Is Washington one of them?

Here in Alabama, I first have to check in with the sweet old ladies manning the computer lists. They check my name off after I give them my address AND approved I.D. I don't sign anything at this point. Now I can enter the voting station.

I then choose a voting machine. There are one or two poll workers at each machine. Just before I enter the booth, they have me sign the book that goes with that machine. The signature book is sequentially numbered.

As a Republican observer, I've watched the end of day routine. At closing time, they check the total votes on each machine against the number of signatures in its companion book. They MUST match. In the rare case of a discrepancy, all heck breaks loose. Police are on hand and they immediately impound the machine & the book, guarding them until election officials and party reps arrive. Yes, there have been glitches, but the record keeping makes it possible to correct them.

Seems like a pretty good system to me. Given that every MACHINE is balanced at day's end, it would be very difficult to "discover" votes later in the process.

Good stuff we need a little humor after reading about an election like this one.

I have told them that we will require a thumb print and a retinal scan.

That will serve two purposes:

1. It will identify the legitimate voters.

2. The illegal voters submitting to a thumb print and a retinal scan will put themselves into a future jail cell.

In PA the book entries were numbered and alphabetized, but you could vote at any machine. When I lived in Ohio, a similar system was used. Not sure how other states do it.

Look! Cut out this whinning about third world cheating. This election was "stolen" fair and square.!!

Huh? What's the deal?? Did you forget the < /sarcasm > tag or what? .....

I would gather that it was left off because intent is rather forthcoming.

" "Didn't Fund also beat his girlfriend? Seem to recall that a few years back"

Yes he did and I certainly am not making any excuses for that. What he did was wrong and no excuse for it."

The John Fund beating story was flogged over and over by Lloyd Grove, the lefty gossip columnist of the Washington Post.

In June 2003, The Nation, of all places, published
" Who Framed John Fund ?"

The author said he was gleeful reading the accounts of Fund's troubles ,especially since Fund had been so hard on Clinton ,vis a vis Lewinsky.
But, according to the author, the mother/ daughter duo's allegations against Fund never seemed legit.
The daughter accused the mother of fabricating the story that Fund and she were to marry.

From the article :
"Over the past few weeks, I've received a set of documents from a close friend of Fund's--now posted on the Internet--that demonstrate to almost any fair-minded person
that Fund is probably the victim of a deeply disturbed person."

"In a signed affidavit, the woman in question--
whose true age is 36, seven years older than was reported, and who was born Carolyn Anne Barteaux ,but
carries a passport (a copy of which was provided to me by Fund) under the name Carolyn Anne Pillsbury and now goes by Morgan Francis Pillsbury--
withdraws any accusations of physical abuse, accusations that resulted in Fund's arrest.
She also denies in the affidavit that they had ever planned to marry."

"In a letter to the Wall Street Journal, she acknowledges that she has "trouble distinguishing between reality and fantasy" and in a sworn deposition, she says she has a "borderline personality disorder.
One of the symptoms of this condition is an inability to discriminate truth from fiction."
In that same deposition, in response to the question, "What lies had you told in the past?" she answers, "Too many to name."

Fund admitted mistakes in judgement (his first was probably ever associating with the mother and her daughter, one apparently more unbalanced than the other ), but, has always denied any type of physical abuse.

Also, our machines just hold the ballots(stylus and punch holes). They don't register a number of votes.

Hell, if the dame is that psycho, I'm suprised he didn't smack her. Sounds like fatal attraction.
