I hope it is true. Many previous stories have been fakes, but this seems to have some life, because of the widespread nature of the reporting. Everone from Drudge, Fox to the Kurd radio is reporting it

As so eloquently put by another poster, it appears to be a "circle jerk" report; it has ONE dubious source, and the other sources reporting on it are not INDEPENDENTLY confirming it, they're just saying "This other source says Zarqawi captured"....so basically the story only has one actual source, but it gives the impression that all of these various news agencies are reporting it.

I would expect that Allawi would be the man to bring this public, not the Pentagon. This would be a huge political victory for him on the eve of elections...

I just want a ACCURATE and TRUE reporting of this, but ? we can be assured of this one thing ? the WHITE HOUSE and the PENTAGON is going to confirm this.

The one thing that has my hopes up the most is this:

Which raises the question of why would they ruin the credibilty they gained with having been accurate on Saddams capture with a false report of Z's capture?

They must have at least thought it to be true.
