Maybe I'll carry two sticks in protest. Or a stick, a bow, and a board with a shallow hole in it with a pocket full of tinder.

Stupid Senators!

They ought to be old enough to know that the plastic the he had in his shoe cannot be blown up by lighting it, it requires a detonator. If he had lit it he would have had the all time hot foot, it burns real neat!

I see zippoes going off the shelves.

Since I don't smoke or fly anymore, I can fart in your direction>

I must admit you can do more harm with a lighter on a plane than you can with a nail file. Just be thankful the 9-11 terrorists didn't use a zippo as part of their plot or this would have been banned three years ago.

Essentially, you've got to empty your pockets now before you go to the airport. I normally carry a pocketknife with me but I have to remember now to take it out when I am flying.

I think the entire U.S. government is completely insane. The upside of this is that they do occasionally provide comic relief. The downside? That they have no compunction whatsoever against killing you for any reason they deem suitable.

In what could become a major hassle for air travelers who smoke, the Homeland Security Department will ban all cigarette lighters beyond airport checkpoints beginning Feb. 15.

Next up...strip searches for all passengers. That's the only way to be sure that they aren't carrying all-plastic lighters or matches.

Meanwhile, our borders remain positively open to illegals and other terrorists.

Why don't we just ban air travelers and get it over with.

My deceased daddy starting flying for the first time when my daughter played basketball for Ohio State, and he flew to her away games.

He was just a good 'ole country boy, who aways had his pocket knife on him. We could never break him of the habit.

Security took every one of them, some of which he had since he was a child.

He didn't mind, though. He knew it was a necessary thing.

My daddy was a very smart man. Looking back now, I'm thinking that was his attempt at self preservation, in case he had to fight back......
