A Pentagon official who publicly disclosed information showing Russian involvement in moving Iraqi weapons out of that country has been dismissed. John A. Shaw, the deputy undersecretary of defense for international technology security and formerly an aide to Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, was forced to leave his position Dec. 10 as the result of a "reorganization" that eliminated his job, defense officials said.
In October, Mr. Shaw told The Washington Times that he had received foreign intelligence data showing that Russian special forces units were involved in an effort to remove Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction in the weeks before the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq began in March 2003.
Mr. Shaw singled out Mr. Rumsfeld's chief of staff, Larry DiRita, and other officials... Mr. DiRita declined to comment on specific accusations made by Mr. Shaw.

nah not the Russians...
its the Syrians....
Since when is making public intelligence data a good deed. He probably blew an op.
His crime is having put Russia in a situation not easily "forgivable", as Dr Rice would have said. It's never a good idea to be in the middle of a diplomatic row, and it's always easier to fire the guy than to publicly accuse a nation.
What happened to the guy who blew the whistle on the space shuttle o-rings?
Your defending a government that doesn't do a damn thing about illegal immigration and who deals with communist China.
Russia has an incressingly paranoid potential dictator as President right now. This report should not have surprised anyone. Does anyone think that Saddamn wasn't blackmailing at the end. I am sick of people that supposedly are working in services to protect the United States, running off at the mouth to the media. It is dangerous and puts Americans lives in danger.
Nice try. I'm not a Guvment hater when it is working as the founders planned. And I don't like people that put other peoples lives in danger. do you think the Islamofascist can't figure out WHO gave them the info. It doesn't matter, I'm sure they have been beheaded by now.
As with all personnel rules, it must be uniformly applied.
Now I have no problem with THIS statement. I agree.
True.
that was richard feynman the famous physicist??
Feynman was the guy who did the nifty demo with the o-ring. I'm not sure whether he's the one behind the idea in the first place or not. I presume lots of very smart people were thinking very hard. It may have been something of a group effort, for which Feynman became the spokesman.
Don't be too hasty if you don't know much about Shaw...
Well, he did some other things...
Shaw was playing favorites with contracting to help a friend get contracts in Iraq for his telecom business. Among other things.
