"EMMA ALBERICI:The Australian, British and US governments were willing to spend billions of dollars waging a war in Iraq after the death of 3,000 mainly Americans on September 11...now that 60,000 Asians have been killed, those same countries have only been prepared to spend millions to help"..."CAROL BELLAMY:...we at UNICEF think that money spent on war is wasted money in the first place, wherever that war is; that war is not good for children in any forum at all..."

"war is not good for children..." Gee, how deep, how insightful, how ...liberal. Think of the children! Guess Ms Bellamy never thought of the Jewish survivors of WW2. Then again, she is from the UN, an organization that loved Arafat.

It's America's money, we'll do with it as we please--lucky for you your #1 source of charity is the US which is so benevolent you know you can bash it, look good to your libbie pals, and STILL get most of your money from us.
This whole situation is backfiring on the ultralibs bigtime--even liberals I know are like "What are they complaining about, the tsunami happened a few days ago and we're giving money and ships and food." The whiners are proving every cliche about them only wanting to attack the US at every opportunity.
So to the spokesthing quoted above, I say: Blow it out your UNIbutt.

"the death of 3,000 mainly Americans"
Well, uh, we ARE America, so it was kinda sorta important to us...
How do these nitwits get in positions to speak?
To: huac
War is certainly not good for children. It's too bad their parents are so stupid as to start killing people and bring war upon their children.

"A third of the tsunami victims are children"Half the population of Asia is under 18, but only a third of the tsunami victims were children? The real headline should be "Children Significantly Less Likely Than Adults to be Tsunami Victims." That doesn't rattle the tin cup nearly as well though.

When all is said and done. The US will have provide the most aid, not that the US will get any credit for it.

''We were more generous when we were less rich, many of the rich countries,'' Egeland said Monday. ''And it is beyond me, why are we so stingy, really. ... Even Christmas time should remind many Western countries at least how rich we have become.'' Egeland told reporters the next day that his complaint wasn't directed at any one nation. Natsios was quick to point out that foreign assistance for development and emergency relief rose from $10 billion in President Clinton's last year to $24 billion under President Bush in 2003. State Department spokesman Richard Boucher said Wednesday that ''we do not have anything to apologize for.''--AP
Man this story burns me...

But adding to their woes and endangering survivors and rescuers is the legacy of years of civil war. More than 1.5 million land mines have been dislodged by the flooding waters There were landmine near the beaches and coastline????
Oh .. and were was UNICEF when Saddam imprisoned all those Iraqi children
Where was UNICEF when Saddam was stealing all the money and bribing the UN with money that was meant to feed the children??

Gee, wonder where UNICEF was when Saddam killed thousands of children just cause he got up on the wrong side of the sandbag most days.
I just cannot believe how everything is being related to how "evil" President Bush and the American people are and frankly I'm getting pretty tired of it!
I wonder how much money has been skimmed out of UNICEF over the years?
AND BTW, what's the UN and UNICEF planning on doing about the continuing caste system in India? Oh, sorry, that's not affecting the lives of people and doesn't line the pockets of these "world-wide" relief organizations. sarcasm/off.

"I wonder how much money has been skimmed out of UNICEF over the years?"
In all fairness, the UN doesn't steal money on every mission. For instance, the UN official who was raping children and videotaping it in the Congo- he hasn't been accused of stealing money...yet.

CAROL BELLAMY:...we at UNICEF think that money spent on war is wasted money in the first place If I could speak with Carol for just a brief moment I'd say,
"It all is apparently a matter of perspective. When one of ours bleeds, all Americans bleed and the blood is Red, White and Blue. Get a life money grabber."
Yep, that's what I'd say, just before I planted my number 8 in her behind.
