Are they going to write him out of Law And Order? He's been around practically forever so this comes as something of a shock. Jerry Orbach WAS the quintessential New Yorker. He lived his entire life in the city.

Last season is when he left the show. They replaced him with Dennis Farina. Not nearly as great as him.

He left at the end of the spring or on the first show of the fall season 2004. Last Wednesday they had the rerun of the show where he left, I think.

They wrote him out last year. Dennis Farina took over for him.

He was written out last year, and replaced with Dennis Farina. Supposedly he was going to be working on a new spin-off. I could not understand the decision at the time, since the L&O brand is already on the ropes. Maybe the producers knew what was going on...

Wait a minute, my wife and I just saw the episode where he retired from the squad room in the Law & Order series. He retired right in the middle of a case! That was on two nights ago and it was a rerun.

He had left the show - L&O - at the end of last season (has been replaced by Dennis Farina) but supposedly was going to be appearing in yet another Dick Wolf series.

He currently working on that spin off I think if Dick Wolf kind about it he better write something in Trial by jury and current Law and order about Lennie death
