Det. Briscoe retired at the end of last season. I missed the show too.
Dennis Farina took his place.
That's good to hear. Its always akward to deal with a popular actor who is unable to take on the role while the show's still on the air. Orbach had the good sense to retire when he did. Its like he knew his time in the business had finally passed.
