I am truely saddened to hear this. Jerry Orbach caught my eye years ago in "Prince Of The City". I've been following him ever since.
A solid New York character actor. I'd no idea he had a history in theater as a Song & Dance Man.
I shall miss him.

One of the original "Fantastiks." A wonderful actor and New Yorker by adoption (he grew up in Waukegan, outside of Chicago).

To me, he will always be Detective Lennie Briscoe.

Shocked to hear about Jerry Orbach's death. He did a great job on Law and Order. The cancer was probably the reason why he left the original show. One publication reported that he said the Law and Order production schedule was getting too much for him. I will always remember him from Law and Order and the "Promises, Promises" CD. He was a good singer as well as actor. R.I.P. Mr. Orbach, we will miss you.

I am saddened. I always liked him since having seen him in Woody Allen's Crimes and Misdemeanors. He was a great actor, nice looking, and seemed like a good guy. May he rest in peace.

Very sad news. I enjoyed his work on L&O, and was sorry to see him "turn in" his badge and retire, so to speak, on the show earlier this year.
May he Rest In Peace.

How sad. Jerry Orbach was my favorite TV actor. "Law & Order" was not the same without him. I had hoped to see him and Chris Noth together again -- they has chemistry, were the best combination on the show.
This year has seen many deaths of people I've liked and admired, among them: Pat Tillman, Jason Dunham, President Ronald Reagan, Reggie White, many brave men and women in Iraq.
