"Navy Says Norfolk Bus Threat a Hoax"
Thursday, December 30, 2004
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "NORFOLK, Va. Authorities Thursday said a vague threat of killing people on a bus in Norfolk turned out to be a hoax.
Authorities barricaded two buses earlier outside the Norfolk Naval Air Station (search) after an unidentified caller referring to a bus warned Norfolk police and said, "A lot of people are going to die."
Norfolk police spokesman Chris Amos said a sweep of the two buses turned up no explosives and the Navy labeled the threat a hoax."

Of all types of vessels oil and chemical tankers are perhaps the most attractive targets for terrorists.
I know nuthin' about lasers. But how could a kid with a new "toy" shine one into the cockpit of an aircraft flying at 8500 ft. going about 350 M.P.H.?
Makes no sense to me. Can you explain? My mind is open, really........ perhaps that is why my brains are falling out.

Danger of secrecy
December 30, 2004
n Monday The Times Argus office in Barre received a threatening letter accompanied by unidentified white powder, prompting fears of anthrax or another deadly biological agent having been released on the premises.
A few hours later authorities declared the substance to be salt, but they warned The Times Argus and its sister paper, the Rutland Herald, to be alert for similar threats. The trouble is the police will not reveal to newspaper personnel or the community the nature of the threat.
