The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

My daughter said you would have to leave under a rock not to know about 911 and this is what caused us all to feel this way

My son said you could live in next door America and not be aware of 24

We are avid fans of the program and the muslim family depicted are 'fake' Americans, they were sent here by Omar who posed as a Mexican terrorist Salazar last season.

So this new family are using our country to carry out major attacks on our soil

Lets take offense as Americans in last night's episode of 24 to a Muslim family trying to get their son's girlfriend, who is in fact a white American, to kill her but instead his muslim mother killed her. Interesting the girl's mother comes to their house looking for their daughter, who is laying DEAD being put in a plastic bag, while her mother smiles at this murderous terrorist.

Maybe we should get a camPAIN together here at TM to write CAIR, WE are offended by their not telling the entire story. While we are at it lets remind them of how we feel about what happened on 911~~~

Sounds like stories posted everyday here at TM, so 24 is doing their research!

CAIR can kiss my wide, Polish behind!

I am interested enough in 24 that the kids hoodwinked me into roleplaying on their site. Great tool to use what we learn here and put it in storywriting!

No, not really -- at least most of the interesting sites that I have run across did not seem to be oriented to Algerians.

However, there are some interesting Algerian sites on the 'net.

I really do think it's a TO&E. But we had this conversation some time ago, and I think we established back on thread nineteen or so that cells were fewer rather than larger in size. So, call it for the sake of standardization, a TWELVE MAN TEAM, and not all of them are trigger pullers. Some have to be logistics guys, some commo and some intel. What is the most used weapon in the AQ inventory? RPG. Remember, I said weapon not explosive. SO. RPGs. The artillery ordnance (not the mortars) like the single 155mm shells will be used as IED's. But the RPG's are direct fire and tactical. They'll be covered by the small arms. I really would like to know the makeup of other caches they've found of a similar nature. This sounds like a classic autonomous Hunter-Killer Team.

President's Statement on Palestinian Elections

January 9, 2005

STATEMENT BY THE PRESIDENT

I am heartened by today's strong turnout in the Palestinian elections. Palestinians throughout the West Bank and Gaza took a key step toward building a democratic future by choosing a new president in elections that observers describe as largely free and fair. This is a historic day for the Palestinian people and for the people of the Middle East.

America and all free nations strongly support the efforts of the Palestinian people to create lasting democratic institutions. These efforts -- including today's presidential elections and the parliamentary elections that will follow in several months -- are essential for the establishment of a sovereign, independent, viable, democratic, and peaceful Palestinian state that can live alongside a safe and secure Israel. These elections are further proof that when given a choice, all peoples seek to live in liberty and to choose their own government.

The United States stands ready to help the Palestinian people realize their aspirations. The new Palestinian president and his cabinet face critical tasks ahead, including fighting terrorism, combatting corruption, building reformed and democratic institutions, and reviving the Palestinian economy. We look forward to working with him and the Palestinian people to address these challenges and to advance the cause of Middle East peace consistent with the vision I set forth on June 24, 2002, of two states, Israel and Palestine, living side by side in peace and security. Other countries also have constructive and vital roles to play. Israel must help to improve the humanitarian and economic situation in the West Bank and Gaza, and follow through with the Disengagement Plan. The Arab states must take concrete steps with all parties to create a regional environment conducive to peace, lend financial support to the Palestinian people, and refuse to assist or harbor terrorists. The United States is looking carefully at how we can best organize and fund our own efforts to help the parties achieve a lasting peace.

CRICKET DISPUTE RESULTS IN BOYS BEING FORCED TO DRINK URINE

By Jeremy Reynalds
Special Correspondent for ASSIST News Service

CHANDIGARH, INDIA (ANS) -- In a shocking incident, a fight over a cricket match between school children escalated into a full-fledged caste war that reportedly resulted in three Dalit boys being forced to drink urine by upper-caste landlords.

The three alleged victims were Gurbax Singh, 20, Bittu Singh, 16, and Piara Singh 12.

The Dalits are a large and oppressed group of Indians.

Jagir Singh explained what happened. He said it was during a cricket match, Newindpress reported (www.newindpress.com/NewsItems.asp?ID=IEO20050103223009&Page=O&Title=This+is+India&Topic=0), that his son Nanak picked a fight with his upper-caste classmate, Amardip Singh.

Nanak’s relatives visited Amardip's residence, but were reportedly abused and forced to leave. “Amardip’s father, Gurdip Singh Jakhar, even threatened to teach us a lesson,” Newindpress reported Jagir said.

“A few days later (on Nov. 27 2004), a group of (upper caste) landlords accosted our relatives who had come from the neighboring Bulla village,” Newindpress reported Jagir said.

According to Jagir, while his younger brother Balwinder managed to flee, Gurbax, Bittu and Piara were dragged to a house, where the landlords urinated in their (shoes) and forced them to drink it at gunpoint.

The boys’ nightmare did not end there, the India Telegraph (www.telegraphindia.com) reported. The police caned (beat) them and threw them behind bars for eight days.

Gurbux, Bittu and Piara were also told they would face robbery charges if they did not apologize to Gurdip.

“We were abused and continue to get threats. We do not know what the (official)has done with the papers he made us sign on December 15 when he asked us to compromise and forget the matter,” the Telegraph reported Jagir said.

Nanak's father demanded that a (suit) be bought against Gurdip and that public officials involved should get fired. He added that they would go to the Punjab State Human Rights Commission for justice.

A state official said the National Scheduled Caste Commission would be approached. “This is a blot for all Indians. There has been no police action till date against those who are perpetrators of the crime because they happen to belong to the upper caste,” he told the Telegraph.

Asked why they had kept quiet for over a month, the Telegraph reported Jagir said they had expected justice at the village level. “But we find there is no one to help us.”

The Dalit Freedom Network(DFN) web site explained what it means to be a Dalit (or an “Untouchable”) in the Indian caste system.

“A Dalit is not considered to be part of the human society, but something, which is beyond that. The Dalits perform the most menial and degrading jobs. Sometimes Dalits perform important jobs, but this is mostly not socially recognized. Dalits are seen as (pollutants) for higher caste people. If a higher caste Hindu is touched by an untouchable or even had a Dalit’s shadow across them, they consider themselves to be polluted and have to go through a rigorous series of rituals to be cleansed.”

According to DFN there are approximately 250 million Dalits in India, or 25 percent of the entire population. “This means,” DFN reported, “that in a country where everybody is supposed to have equal rights and opportunities, one out of four people is condemned to be untouchable.”

DFN said that Dalits rank at the bottom of the Indian caste system ... As DFN pointed out, “They literally have no caste. They are the untouchables ... which means (an) oppressed, downtrodden and exploited social group.”

The mission of DFN, according to its web site, “is to empower the Dalits in their quest for social freedom and human dignity by networking human, financial and informational resources.”
